Home My WebLink AboutLand Information Meeting January 15, 2016 Land Council Information Meeting - January 15, 2016 8:30 a.m. Meeting was called to order by Marilyn Pierce. Members present were Marilyn Pierce, John Anderson, Tammy Hampton, Bob Keeney, Travis Kramer, Kathryn Burk, Chris Colney and Louise Ketterer. Motion was made by Bob Keeney to approve the minutes of the meeting of December 23, 2015 with corrections, second by John Anderson. Motion carried. Aaron Austin, of Austin Engineering was present and gave some information regarding his interest in the County Surveyor position. Discussion was held regarding remonumentation of section corners and how long it would take to accomplish. Aaron had questions regarding what we would expect from him and about compensation. Bob stated we are looking for a contracted position. Discussion was held regarding what kind of a review would need to be done. The question of meeting the goal of 50 corners per year was asked. We would want coordinates. Also, if the County Surveyor sets the corner, that will be the official corner. Discussion was held regarding the Zoning Office and Sheriff’s Dept. being a critical part of the decision of the County Surveyor. Revision of the Strategic Initiative Grant application was discussed. The total dollar amount was changed from $815,000 to $50,000. Motion by Bob Keeney, Second by John Anderson. Motion carried. New software was discussed for Tammy Hampton, Tax Lister. She needs software to work with pdf files. She had a trial version and that has expired. John has Adobe Pro 9. Discussion was held and Tammy and John should have the same software. Motion by Bob Keeney, second by John Anderson to go with Adobe Pro, with Jeff Anderson’s approval. Motion carried. Kathryn Burk provided the committee with a contract from SWWRPC for approval. The surveyor position was discussed regarding how the field work is best to do in March. Also, this needs to be a County Board Appointment. Meeting adjourned to Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. (County Board meets at 10:00 a.m.)
