HomeMy WebLinkAboutOM 05 13 20 minutesCommittee Minutes May 13, 2020 1 Orchard Manor/County Farm Committee Meeting Minutes May 13, 2020 Committee Chairman Donald Splinter called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Chairman Splinter noted a quorum was present and certified the meeting was in compliance with the Open Meetings Law. Committee members present or online were Greg Fry, Roger Guthrie, Dale Hood, and Gary Northouse. Grant County staff members Robert Keeney, Joyce Roling, and Carol Schwartz were present. Ron and Terry Abing also attended. Roger Guthrie made the motion seconded by Greg Fry to approve the amended agenda. Motion carried, voice vote. Gary Northouse made the motion seconded by Dale Hood to approve the March 11, 2020 Orchard Manor and Farm Committee minutes. Motion carried, voice vote. Alliant Energy will be making some upgrades to the farm electricity. The 3-phase will be changed to single-phase due to changes in the needs of the farm. Next month, Majestic View will give a report on fencing progress and expenses. Greg Fry made the motion seconded by Roger Guthrie to approve the farm vouchers as presented. Motion carried, voice vote. Robert Keeney updated the committee on the sewer plant. Wiederholt will buy the old plant for $1,500, tear apart the concrete, and bury it on site. The Conservation Department will inspect the site for leakage and help with appropriate landscaping after the plant is demolished. Sludge has been hauled and the tank will be empty soon. Matt Thill reported their department has set up negative pressure units in the 800-wing of Orchard Manor. A UVC light was borrowed from the Sheriff’s Department to disinfect some of the rooms in the facility. All of the 300-wing and some rooms on the 400-wing were disinfected. Maintenance also purchased a smaller UVC light to disinfect smaller items, like keyboards. The fire alarm upgrade is on hold due to COVID-19. Simplex is the new fire alarm monitoring company. The generator project still has wiring that needs to be finished. Roger Guthrie made the motion seconded by Greg Fr y to accept the maintenance report. Motion carried, voice vote. Carol Schwartz and the Committee discussed the following Orchard Manor issues:.  The current census is 64 geriatric and 25 intellectually disabled residents.  CNAs – 2 PM full-time; 1 PM 72 hr.; 1 NOC full-time; 1 Days 64 Hr. weekend.  RN- 1 PM  RN/LPN 1 NOC/PM 54-80 Hr.  COTA 20 hr. week.  There are 21 beds available in our 800-wing negative pressure unit.  17 residents currently reside on the 800 wing.  State will be surveying the facility on infection control. The telephone portion has been completed and they will come on site at a future date.  The Occupational Therapist will take training in June to enable her to do lymphedema treatments.  Request to possibly carry over 104 hr. of vacation by the administrator to be use this fall. Motion carried, voice vote. Roger Guthrie made the motion seconded by Dale Hood to accept the Administrator’s report. Motion carried, voice vote. Chairman Splinter tentatively set Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. for the next meeting. Gary Northouse made the motion seconded by Dale Hood to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 a.m. Motion carried, voice vote.
