HomeMy WebLinkAbout03 031021 minutesCommittee Minutes March 10, 2021 1 Orchard Manor/County Farm Committee Meeting Minutes March 10, 2021 Chairman Donald Splinter called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Chairman Splinter noted a quorum was present and certified the meeting was in compliance with the Open Meetings Law. Committee members present or online were John Beinborn, Greg Fry, Roger Guthrie, and Dale Hood. Grant County staff members Shane Drinkwater, Garry Pluemer, Robert Keeney, Joyce Roling, Carol Schwartz, Matt Thill, and Tonya White were present or joined online. Dale Hood made the motion seconded by Roger Guthrie to approve the amended agenda. Motion carried, voice vote. John Beinborn made the motion seconded by Roger Guthrie to approve the February 16, 2021 Orchard Manor and Farm Committee minutes. Motion carried, voice vote. There were no farm issues to discuss. Greg Fry made the motion seconded by Dale Hood to approve the Farm vouchers as presented. Motion carried, voice vote. Robert Keeney reported we are waiting for the weather to improve to enable the rubble to be buried from the old Community Service Building. Matt Thill reported the telephone project is near the point of switching over to the new system. We had an ICF/IID survey with good results. Orchard Manor received some minor citations related to work not being finished for the new phone system yet. No monetary citations were issued. Maintenance installed an additional camera in the front vestibule to better enable staff to see who is inside the door. There was a released prisoner looking for a ride who came in the entryway in the evening. He also asked the pharmacy delivery driver for a ride to Platteville. The committee suggested the issue be discussed at Law Enforcement. Proclamation #8 was enacted to allow extra pay for salaried nurses working over 40 hours per week during the pandemic. This option is no longer being utilized by salaried nurses and Orchard Manor asks it be rescinded. Greg Fry made the motion seconded by John Beinborn to recommend the County Board rescind Proclamation #8. Motion carried, voice vote. Carol Schwartz and the Committee discussed the following Orchard Manor issues:  The current census is 50 geriatric and 24 intellectually disabled residents.  CNAs – some new CNAs have been hired for weekend staff.  Hired an LPN.  MDS/RN coordinator – may have an option with current staff to fill.  Activity Manager – hired current activity staff person to fill.  March 8 was the final pharmacy on-site vaccination date.  Future vaccination needs will be covered by the Health Dep artment.  Annual ICF/IID recertification survey took place in February. No citations were given to the unit.  We sent out letters to family members with guidelines for visitation. We will utilize four rooms on the 100-wing to enable private visits at this time. Greg Fry made the motion seconded by John Beinborn to approve the vouchers as presented. Motion carried, voice vote. Chairman Splinter tentatively set Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. for the next meeting. Roger Guthrie made the motion seconded by Dale Hood to adjourn the meeting at 9:42 a.m. Motion carried, voice vote.
