HomeMy WebLinkAboutHwy June 6 minutesHIGHWAY COMMITTEE MEETING June 6, 2013 The regular monthly meeting of the Grant County Highway Committee was held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Highway Office in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Chairman John Patcle called the meeting to order at 9:00 A.M.. Members present besides the Chairman were Donald Splinter, Mark Stead, Vern Lewison, Grant Loy, and Highway Commissioner David Lambert. Also present was County Board Chairman Larry Wolf. David said notice of the meeting was sent to and posted at the Administration Building and at the Highway Office. Vern Lewison, seconded by Mark Stead, moved to approve the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Donald Splinter, seconded by Grant Loy, moved to pay Vouchers #402 thru #514. Motion carried. David reviewed four routes proposed by the ATV-UTV Users Club. Vern Lewison, seconded by Donald Splinter, moved to approve the four routes: CTH "X" - from the Village of Wyalusing, extending north and east past the State Park, CTH "C", and over to CTH "P". CTH "X" - from the Village of Bagley, extending north to Glasner Hollow Road - Jellystone Park. CTH "C" - extending an additional 1/2 mile, from where it ended before at Millville Hollow Road to Kussmaul Hollow Road. CTH "P" - extending from CTH "A" near Bagley, north and east to join the section of CTH "P" that was previously approved at Dry Hollow Road. Motion carried. David said that the DNR had contacted Jon Knautz and wants all road side mowing done by July 1st to try and control the wild parsnip from going to seed. During the recent rain storms, there was no flooding of County Roads but there were mudslides near Bagley. The CTH "K", Rocky Dell Bridge Project is on schedule. The deck was poured before Memorial Day and the approaches and railing are also done. Grading to the approaches will be done next week and rip rap needs to be finished. Mark Stead, seconded by Vern Lewison, moved to approve the Resolution declaring the Project "Town of North Lancaster, Badger Road, Martin Branch Bridge P-22-0921, Town Road, Grant County" Meets the Conditions for,an "Absence of Need" Exception Under Wisconsin Administrative Code Trans 75. Motion carried. David reported that recently the roof blew off the State salt shed located east of the Highway Office. He proposed minor maintenance work be done to that building, as well as work on the County salt shed, Oil shed, and Sign shop. Mark Stead, seconded by Vern Lewison, moved to adjourn at 9:58 A.M. to Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 9:00 A.M.. Motion carried. Respectfully submitted, Mark A. Stead, Secretary
