HomeMy WebLinkAboutHighway Committee Meeting Minutes January 12 2017HIGHWAY COMMITTEE MEETING January 12, 2017 The Highway Committee of the Grant County Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. at the Highway Office in Lancaster, Wisconsin. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Donald Splinter. Other members present were Mark Stead, Lester Jantzen, Grant Loy, and Highway Commissioner David Lambert. John Patcle arrived at 9:03 A.M.. Also present was County Board Chairman Robert Keeney, Judy Hazen, and Terri Abing. Notice of the meeting was sent to the media and the agenda was posted at the Administration Building and Highway Office. Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by Grant Loy, to approve the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Grant Loy, to approve the minutes of the December 8, 2016 and December 20, 2016 meetings as printed. Motion carried. Motion by Donald Splinter, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to pay Vouchers #1097 thru 1239. Motion carried. Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Grant Loy, to approve and recommend to the full County Board, a request for a ATV - UTV Route on CTH "K" extending from Bluff Road north to Badger Road pending approval by the Traffic Safety Committee. Motion carried. Motion by Donald Splinter, seconded by John Patcle, to approve and recommend to the full County Board, a request for a ATV - UTV Route on CTH "J" extending from Wilson Hill Road north into the Village.of Mt. Hope at CTH "JJ", contingent on the Town of Little Grant passing their own ATV - UTV ordinance and opening their roads to such use. The request is also pending approval by the Traffic Safety Committee. Motion carried. Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by John Patcle, to approve and recommend to the full County Board, a request for a ATV - UTV Route on CTH "A" extending from Grays Mill Road westerly to Badger Road, contingent on the Town of Little Grant passing their own ATV - UTV ordinance and opening their roads to such use. The request is also pending approval by the Traffic Safety Committee. Motion carried. David reported that a new Caterpillar rubber tired roller has been purchased and received from Fabick Cat in Madison. For the first eleven months of 2016, Grant County is under budget by $37,144.00 for the maintenance work that we provide on the State Highway System. David reported that Grant County will receive $1,244,359.00 in General Transportation Aids for the year 2017. This is down $41,014.00 from 2016 and down $305,183.00 from 2011.
