HomeMy WebLinkAboutHighway Minutes Jan 21 2016HIGHWAY COMMITTEE MEETING January 21, 2016 A special meeting of the Grant County Highway Committee was held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 in Room 266 on second floor of the Grant County Administration Building in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Chairman Donald Splinter called the meeting to order at 9:32 A.M.. Members present besides the Chairman were Vern Lewison, Mark Stead, and John Patcle. Also present was County Board Chairman Robert Keeney. Highway Commissioner David Lambert and Grant Loy arrived at 9:34 A.M.. Notice of the meeting was sent to the media and the agenda was posted at the Administration Building, Highway Office, and on the Grant County website. John Patcle, seconded by Vern Lewison, moved to approve the agenda as printed. Motion carried. David discussed plans for a land swap for the Belmont Mound Trail Project. He said it was to everyones advantage to sell the existing railroad corridor to the adjoining landowners and purchase land along the four lane highway for the trail. Lafayette County is to acquire the existing corridor on the Rita Suthers property from the DNR. The DNR will quit claim deed the property to Lafayette County who will quit claim the property to Rita Suthers. Lafayette County will purchase 3.51 acres from Rita Suthers and deed it over to the DNR. John Patcle, seconded by Grant Loy, moved to approve the proposed Relocation Order and Right -Of -Way Plat required for the Belmont Mound Trail Project Number 5635-01-02 (R/W) and Construction Project Number 5635-01-72. Motion carried. Mark Stead, seconded by Vern Lewison, moved to adjourn at 9:42 A.M. to Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 9:00 A.M.. Motion carried. Respectfully submitted, Mark A. Stead, Secretary
