July 24, 2017
A special meeting of the Grant County Highway Committee was held on Monday,
July 24, 2017 in room 266 of the Grant County Administration Building in Lancaster,
Wisconsin.
Chairman Donald Splinter called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M.. Other
members present were John Patcle, Mark Stead, Lester Jantzen, Grant Loy, and
Highway Commissioner David Lambert. Also present was Personnel Director Joyce
Roling and Jon Knautz. Larry Kirschbaum and Mike Bartels joined the Committee
during the closed session.
Notice of the meeting was sent to the media and the agenda was posted at the
Administration Building and Highway Office.
Motion by John Patcle, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to approve the agenda as
printed. Motion carried.
At 8:32 A.M., Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by John Patcle, to enter into
closed session per Wisconsin State Statute 19.85 (1)(c) regarding employment
interviews for a State Section Patrol Worker Position. A roll call vote was taken
with Patcle, Stead, Jantzen, Loy, and Splinter all voting yes. Motion carried.
At 9:48 A.M., Motion by John Patcle, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to come out
of closed session and return to open session. Motion carried.
Motion by John Patcle, seconded by Grant Loy, to offer the State Section
Patrol Worker Position to Candidate choice one and that if he declines the position
to offer it to Candidate choice two, pending back ground checks on both. Motion
carried.
Mike Bartels discussed the Air Compressor bids opened at the last meeting.
He said that including a hose reel, the Sulliar 185 from Miller Bradford would be
$22,003.00 and the Doosan from Roland Machinery would be $21,000.00.
Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Grant Loy, to purchase a Doosan P185WDO-T4F
185 CFM air compressor from Roland Machinery with hose reel for $21,000.00.
Motion carried.
Motion by John Patcle, seconded by Mark Stead, to adjourn at 9:56 A.M. to
Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 9:00 A.M.. Motion carried.
