June 19, 2018
A special meeting of the Highway Committee of the Grant County Board of
Supervisors was held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in room 266 of the Grant County
Administration Building in Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Chairman John Patcle called the meeting to order at 12:50 P.M.. Other
members present were Donald Splinter, Lester Jantzen, Mark Stead, Dwight Nelson,
and Highway Commissioner David Lambert. Also present was County Board Chairman
Robert Keeney, Personnel Director Joyce Roling, and County Highway Patrol
Superintendent Larry Kirschbaum.
Notice of the meeting was sent to the media and the agenda was posted at the
Administration Building and Highway Office.
Motion by Donald Splinter, seconded by Dwight Nelson, to approve the agenda
as printed. Motion carried.
At 12:52 P.M., a motion was made by Lester Jantzen, seconded by Dwight Nelson,
to enter into closed session per Wisconsin State Statute 19.85 (1)(c) regarding
employment interviews - Section Patrol/Operator-Operator position. A roll call
vote was taken with Splinter, Jantzen, Stead, Nelson, and Patcle all voting yes.
Motion carried.
At 1:46 P.M., a motion was made by Mark Stead, seconded by Dwight Nelson,
to come out of closed session and return to open session. Motion carried.
Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Donald Splinter, to offer the Section
Patrol/Operator position to Candidate choice one and that if he declines the
position to offer it to Candidate choice two, pending reference checks on both.
Motion carried.
Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to adjourn at 1:48 P.M.
to Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 9:00 A.M.. Motion carried.
