January 28, 2020
The Highway Committee of the Grant County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday,
January 28, 2020 in room 266 of the Grant County Administration Building in
Lancaster, Wisconsin.

Chairman John Patcle called the meeting to order at 7:45 A.M.. Other members
present were Mark Stead, Donald Splinter, Lester Jantzen, Dwight Nelson, and
Highway Commissioner David Lambert. Also present was Grant County Personnel
Director Joyce Roling, Jon Knautz, and Larry Kirschbaum.
Notice of the meeting was sent to the media and the agenda was posted at the
Administration Building and Highway Office.
Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by Dwight Nelson, to approve the agenda
as printed. Motion carried.
At 7:47 A.M. a motion was made by Lester Jantzen, seconded by Donald Splinter,
to enter into closed session per Wisconsin State Statute 19.85 (1)(c) regarding
employment interviews -Section Patrol/Operator-Operator position. A roll call vote
was taken with Nelson, Stead, Splinter, Jantzen, and Patcle all voting yes.
Motion carried.
At 11:01 A.M. a motion was made by Mark Stead, seconded by Lester Jantzen,
to come out of closed session and return to open session. Motion carried.
Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by Dwight Nelson, to offer the Patrolman
position to Candidate choice one. Motion carried.
Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to offer the Operator
position to Candidate choice one and that if they decline the position to offer
it to Candidate choice two pending background checks on both. Motion carried.
Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by Donald Splinter, to adjourn at 11:04 A.M..
Motion carried.
