HomeMy WebLinkAboutHighway Minutes-Oct 22 2020HIGHWAY COMMITTEE MEETING October 22, 2020 A special meeting of the Highway Committee of the Grant County Board of Supervisors was held on Thursday,,October 22, 2020 at 9:11 A.M. in the South Room of the Grant County Youth and Agriculture Building in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Attending the meeting in person were Mark Stead, Lester Jantzen; J46 Patcle, Donald Splinter, Mike Bartels, Highway Commissioner David Lambert, and County Board Chairman Robert Keeney. Dwight Nelson attended via Zoom. Notice of the meeting was sent to the media and the agenda was posted at the Administration Building and Highway Office. Motion by John Patcle, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to approve the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Mike and David reviewed the Offers and Bids received for two single -axle Patrol Trucks, snow equipment for the trucks, and a quad -axle heavy haul truck. After careful review, Mike recommended the purchase of Western Star single -axle Patrol Trucks, Burke snow equipment, and a Western Star quad -axle heavy haul truck. Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by John Patcle, to accept the bid from Burke Truck & Equipment for snow equipment for a County Patrol Truck at $87,834.00 and for a State Patrol Truck at $92,934.00. Motion carried. Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by John Patcle, to purchase two 2021 Western Star single -axle Patrol Trucks with air bag option from Truck Country at $101,511.00 each. Motion carried. Motion by Donald Splinter, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to purchase,a 2020 Western Star quad -axle truck with seven year extended warranty, towing package, and five year transmission warranty from Truck Country at $167,239.00. Motion carried. Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by John Patcle, to adjourn at 10:03 A.M.. Motion carried. Respectfully submitted, Mark A. Stead, Secretary
