January 28, 2021
A special meeting of the Highway Committee of the Grant County Board of
Supervisors was held on Thursday; January 28, 2021 at 8:30 A.M. in the County
Board Room of the Administration Building in Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Attending the meeting were Mark Stead, Dwight Nelson, Donald Splinter,
Lester Jantzen, John Patcle, County Board Chairman Robert Keeney, Personnel
Director Joyce Roling, and recently retired Lafayette County Highway Commissioner
Tom Jean.
Notice of the meeting was sent to the media and posted on the Grant County
website and at the Administration Building and Highway Office.
Motion by Lester Jantzen; seconded by Dwight Nelson, to approve the agenda
as printed. Motion carried.
Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to enter into closed session
per State Statute 19,85 (1)(c) considering employment, promotion, compensation or
performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body
has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility to conduct employment interviews -
Highway Commissioner Interviews. A roll call vote was taken with Jantzen, Stead,
Nelson; Patcle, and Splinter all voting yes. Motion carried.
Motion by John Patcle, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to come out of closed
session and return to open session. Motion carried.
Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to offer the Highway
Commissioner position to Candidate choice one and that if they decline the
position to offer it to Candidate choice two. Motion carried.
Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Dwight Nelson; to adjourn at 12:16 P.M.
Motion carried.
