HomeMy WebLinkAbout06 Highway Minutes June 10 2021HIGHWAY COMMITTEE MEETING June 10, 2021 The Highway Committee of the Grant County Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. in the County Board Room of the Administration Building in Lancaster, Wisconsin and via Zoom. Attending the meeting in person were Donald Splinter, John Patcle, Mark Stead, Dwight Nelson, Lester Jantzen, Highway Commissioner Jon Knautz, County Board Chairman Robert Keeney, IT Director Shane Drinkwater. Joining the Committee after the meeting had started were Larry Kirschbaum and Mike Lieurance. Notice of the meeting was sent to the media and the agenda was posted at the Administration Building and Highway Office. Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by Dwight Nelson, to approve the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Motion by Dwight Nelson, seconded by Mark Stead, to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2021 meeting as printed. Motion carried. Motion by John Patcle, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to accept the May Highway Accounts Payable Report as reviewed by the Committee. Motion carried. For the first four months of 2021, Grant County is over the estimated RMA budget by $239,242.23 with $1,093,838.35 being spent on the State System so far this year. State crews have finished sweeping curbs and gutters and have been busy repairing buckled concrete on Highway 151 and Highway 61 between Fennimore and Boscobel. County crews have been repairing bathroom roofs at the 3 waysides in the County, and have started mowing for the season. The WisDOT likes to have one pass done by July 4th. The CTH "A" project east of Bloomington is on hold as a renter of property that the County needs to obtain will not let the County on the property to do soil borings. A Patrolman out of the Cassville shop has given notice he is leaving for employment elsewhere. Two new Patrol trucks, one for State and one for County, are at Burke Truck & Equipment in Madison. Burke estimates it will be October before the installation of boxes, wings, plows, sanders, and electrical will be completed on the trucks. The 1970 Caterpillar motor grader has been sold to someone in Montana for $13,187.50 which includes sales tax. A new Caterpillar loader has been ordered with expected delivery by the end of July.
