HomeMy WebLinkAbout12 Highway Minutes Dec 21 2021HIGHWAY COMMITTEE MEETING December 21, 2021 A special meeting of the Highway Committee of the Grant County Board of Supervisors was held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Administration Building in Lancaster, Wisconsin and via Zoom. Attending the meeting were Donald Splinter, John Patcle, Mark Stead, Dwight Nelson, Lester Jantzen, Jon Knautz, Dan McLimans, Shane Drinkwater, Joyce Roling, and Larry Kirschbaum. Notice of the meeting was sent to the media and the agenda was posted at the Administration Building and Highway Office. Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by Dwight Nelson, to approve the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Jon informed the Committee that Daimler Truck has announced a MY2023 price surcharge across all Makes/Models due to supplier cost increases, labor and delivery cost increases. The Western Star 4700 increase is $4500.00 per truck which will be passed on to Grant County. Discussion followed as to if the County should cancel the order or pay the cost increase. Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by John Patcle, to pay the surcharge of $4500.00 per truck. Motion carried by majority vote with Mark Stead voting no. Motion by Mark Stead,, seconded by Dwight Nelson, to enter into closed session per State Statute 19.85 (1)(c) considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility as it relates to interviewing candidates to fill the vacant - Fennimore County Patrolman Position. A roll call vote was taken . with Splinter, Jantzen, Nelson, Patcle, and Stead all voting yes. Motion carried. The time was 1:09 P.M.. At 2:09 P.M., a motion was made by Donald Splinter, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to come out of closed session and return to open session. Motion carried. Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Lester Jantzen, to offer the Fennimore County Patrolman Position to Candidate choice one and if they decline the position to offer it to Candidate choice two. Motion carried. Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Dwight Nelson, to adjourn at 2:10 P.M. to Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 9:00 A.M.. Motion carried. Respectfully submitted, Mark A. Stead, Secretary
