EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
April 3, 2024
The Executive Committee of the Grant County Board of Supervisors met on Wednesday, April
03, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. The meeting was held in Room 264 of the Administration building and
via Zoom.
The meeting was called to order by Chair Gary Ranum. Other members present were Carol
Beals, Donald Splinter, John Beinborn, Robert Keeney, Roger Guthrie and Steve (Porter)
Wagner. A quorum was present. Human Resource Director Joyce Roling and PAA Consultant
Dave Bretl was also in attendance.
Notice of the meeting was posted in the Grant County Herald Independent, Administration
Building, Courthouse, and on the Grant County website.
John Beinborn, seconded by Porter Wagner, moved to approve the agenda. Motion carried
without negative vote.
Donald Splinter, seconded by Roger Guthrie, moved to go into closed session per state
statute19.85(1)(c) considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation
data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises
responsibility as it relates to the Finance Director / County Auditor interviews. Roll call vote
reflected a carried motion.

Porter Wagner, seconded by Donald Splinter, moved to return to open session. Motion carried
without negative vote.
Robert Keeney, seconded by John Beinborn, moved to proceed with hiring candidate as
discussed in closed session. Motion carried without negative vote.
Porter Wagner, seconded by Donald Splinter, moved to approve create and fill Administrative
Assistant II position in anticipation of an upcoming vacancy. Motion carried without negative
vote.
Carol Beals, seconded by John Beinborn, moved to adjourn to April 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
Motion carried without negative vote.
