HomeMy WebLinkAboutExecutive Minutes 2017 01 121 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE January 12, 2017 The Executive Committee of the Grant County Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in room 264 of the Administration Building, Lancaster, WI. The meeting was called to order by Chair John Patcle. Other members present were John Beinborn, Robert Keeney, Gary Ranum, Donald Splinter, and Mark Stead. Mike Lieurance asked to be excused. Therefore a quorum was present. Also in attendance were Louise Ketterer, Joyce Roling, Nancy Scott, Linda Gebhard, Karla Schwantes, Carrie Eastlick, Jody Bartels, Marilyn Pierce, Andrea Noethe, Tim Murphy, Verda Nemo, Dave Lambert, Lester Jantzen, and Jeff Kindrai. Notice of the meeting was sent to the media and the amended agenda was posted in the Administration Building, Courthouse, and on the Grant County website. Motion by Don Splinter, seconded by John Beinborn to approve the amended agenda as posted. Motion carried without negative vote. Motion by Gary Ranum, seconded by Mark Stead to approve the minutes of the December 13, 2016 meeting. Motion carried without negative vote. Motion by Robert Keeney, seconded by Donald Splinter, to move into closed session per state statute 19.85 (1) (e) deliberating or negotiating the investing of public funds or conducting other specified public business whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. Motion carried with a unanimous roll call vote. Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Donald Splinter, to return to open session. Motion carried without negative vote. Finance Motion by John Beinborn, seconded by Gary Ranum, to accept the December Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried without negative vote. Motion by Robert Keeney, seconded by John Beinborn, to recommend the County Board approve funding for the wage/compensation study. Motion carried without negative vote. Motion by John Beinborn, seconded by Donald Splinter, to accept the December Revenue/Expenditure Report. Motion carried without negative vote. Motion by Gary Ranum, seconded by Robert Keeney, to accept the Finance Director’s report. Motion carried without negative vote. 2 Employee Relations Staffing Update: Current staffing figures as of January 10, 2017, are as follows: Full time Benefit 268 Regular Part time Benefit 99 Part time 75 Limited term and seasonal 82 TOTAL 524 Due to the impending compensation study, the committee did not consider the wage requests on the agenda for the deputy positions from County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Treasurer, and Register in Probate as they will be included in the study. Robert Keeney, seconded by Mark Stead, moved to approve the Child Support request to fill a vacant support position at no more than an Administrative Assistant II. Motion carried without negative vote. Don Splinter, seconded by Gary Ranum, moved to approve the Personnel Director’s report and the LEAN update. Motion carried without negative vote. Mark Stead, seconded by Robert Keeney, moved to adjourn to February 14, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. Motion carried without negative vote.
