HomeMy WebLinkAboutJuly 27AGRICULTURE AND EXTENSION EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING Monday, July 27, 2009 7:00 p.m. South Room/Youth & Ag Center Lancaster, Wisconsin Meeting called to order by Chairman Steve Adrian. Present in addition to Chairman Adrian was Bob Keeney, Vince Loeffelholz, Lynn Moris, Kyle Vesperman, Dolores Schwantes and Members of the organization that will be helping with the organization of the fair. Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Lynn Moris, that the meeting was in compliance with the open meeting law. Motion carried. Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Bob Keeney to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Megan Cooley representing the Pork Promoters was present asked about times and number of people per shift. Discussion followed: Wednesday will be a different menu than Sunday. Kyle Vesperman will be there to organize and help you get set up. Audrey Johnston representing Southwest Opportunities was not present. Beer Hall Representatives were present. Beer will be the same price as last year. Dr. Tom Hermsen and Angie were present representing the veterinarians. They will be there on Thursday and on through the weekend. Dolores Schwantes will be sending out the new animal health rules to the veterinarians. Jack Johnson, representing the sheriff department was not present. Torn Taber, representing the American Legion for admission tickets was present. Discussed the problem with people going over to the draft horse show. Question on where to park motor cycles. Tammy Wagner, representing the Jaycees same prices as last year. Larry Jerrett, representing Farm Bureau, same prices as last year. Pat Klug, representing the Sales Pavilion introduced Jonna Cargill and Kim Esser who will be taking over her position next year. Same menu, same prices. Randy Peterson, insurance. Will be in to check over contracts. Will be in to check with Joe Lolwing for a walk through the Monday before fair. Rob Little discussed the fire departments part of the fair. Discussion on how many firemen come with each unit. There should be no wives or children accompanying the fire trucks. Possibly get other cities to come with their fire departments to help cover some of the events. Brian Allen representing the rescue squad introduced Jackie Edge who will be taking his place as of August 1 ". She discussed having other rescue squads come in. Lancaster would be here Thursday and Sunday afternoon and evening, and possibly get others for Friday & Saturday events. Rick Knutson, representing the boy scouts asked about the Wednesday night clean up. They will do the clean up as in the past. Dolores Schwantes reported Reynolds Electric will be taking care of the electricity for the fair and Grant County Nursed will be staffing the First Aid Station. Dolores Schwantes was to inquire if David Bahl would spray for flies in the Livestock Facility and The Beer Hall. Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Bob Keeney to adjourn to August 3, 2009.
