EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING
Monday, October 5, 2009
9:00 a.m.
UWEX Conference Room
Lancaster, WI
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Steve Adrian. Present, in addition to Chairman
Adrian were Lynn Moris, Bob Keeney, Vince Loeffelholz, John Patcle, Ted Bay, Dolores
Schwantes, Joe Lolwing, Pauline Pitzen, Dave Timmerman,, Connie Haberkorn, Bob Shell, and
Betsy Olson. Kyle Vesperman was absent.
Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Lynn Moris, that the meeting was in compliance with the
open meeting law. Motion carried.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Bob Keeney; to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Vince Loeffelholz, to approve the minutes of the meeting
held September 17, 2009. Motion carried.
Joe Lolwing gave the grounds and maintenance report. Todd Sanger will be able to make repairs
on the Youth & Agriculture Center roof after October 5 if needed. Joe will contact the insurance
adjuster again regarding hail damage on the Youth & Ag Center roof.
Discussion was held regarding displays in the Crop Building during the fair.
The Fair Board will direct Joe regarding use of the manure from the Pioneer Dairy Club sale.
Ted Bay presented UW-Extension business.
Dolores Schwantes presented Fair and Fairgrounds business.
Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Lynn Moris, to have Thursday evening of the 2010 Grant
County Fair be family entertainment night including events of Catch -a -Pig contest and Mutton
Bustin'. Motion carried.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Bob Keeney, to make an offer in the amount of
$6,000 to purchase two sets of bleachers to Mark Fuchler. Motion carried.
Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Lynn Moris, to approve sending the livestock claim on to
the full County Board. The balance is $593.25, which is a credit of $48.75 to the prior amount of
$644.75. The motion made at the September 17 meeting in the amount of $644.75 was
rescinded. Motion carried.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Bob Keeney, to move to closed session. Roll call
vote was taken and passed unanimously. Motion carried.
Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Lynn Moris to return to open session:`Motion carried.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Lynn Moris, to adjourn. Motion carried.
