EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING
Monday, December 21, 2009
9:00 a.m.
UWEX Conference Room
Lancaster, WI
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Steve Adrian. Present, in addition to Chairman
Adrian were Lynn Moris, Bob Keeney, Vince Loeffelholz, Kyle Vesperman, John Patcle, Ted
Bay, Dolores Schwantes, Joe Lowling, Scott Chyko, Joel Ames and Gabe Loeffelholz.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by John Patcle, that the meeting was in compliance with
the open meeting law. Motion carried.
Motion by Lynn Moris, seconded by Bob Keeney, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Vince Loeffelholz, to approve the minutes of the meeting
held December 7, 2009. Motion carried.
Scott Chyko from Deltra 3 presented the assessment and proposal for the Youth & Ag Center
roof.
Joel Ames from Classy Chassy Car Club was present to discuss the car show being held at the
2010 Grant County Fair.
Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Kyle Vesperman to sign the contract, paying $300.00 to
the car club to organize the car show for Saturday, August 21, of the fair. All occupants of the
vehicles in the show will receive free entry to the fair. Classy Chassy will charge $4.00 per
person for occupants of vehicles being displayed for sale. Motion carried.
Motion by Kyle Vesperman, seconded by Lynn Moris to charge Classy Chassy Car Club the
same rate as last year for using the Youth & Ag Center. Motion carried.
Joe Lolwing gave the grounds and maintenance report. The grandstand concession stand was
rekeyed. Joe reported that the floor scrubber is not in good condition. The building check report
included that fire extinguishers were O.K. and the barn kitchen awning had fallen from the
weight of the snow and will be put back up in the spring. A thank you letter was received from
Experience Works. Garbage contract information will be ready for the January meeting.
Ted Bay presented UW-Extension business.
Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Vince Loeffelholz to approve the 133 contract with UW-
Extension. Motion carried.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Lynn Moris, to approve UW-Extension and Youth &
Ag Center vouchers. Motion carried.
Dolores Schwantes presented Fair and Fairgrounds business.
Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Lynn Moris, to have Tri-State Truck & Tractor pullers for
entertainment Friday, August 20 of the 2010 fair. Motion carried.
Motion by Steve Adrian, seconded by Kyle Vesperman, to approve the Fair vouchers. Motion
carried.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Lynn Moris, to approve the theme for 2010 Grant
County Fair which is Gallop on Over to the Grant County Fair for a Wild Good Time. Motion
carried.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Lynn Moris, to adjourn until January 10 at the fair
convention. Motion carried.
