HomeMy WebLinkAboutDecember 7AGRICULTURE AND EXTENSION EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING Monday, December 7, 2009 9:00 a.m. UWEX Conference Room Lancaster, WI The meeting was called to order by Chairman Steve Adrian. Present, in addition to Chairman Adrian were Lynn Moris, Bob Keeney, Vince Loeffelholz, Kyle Vesperman, John Patcle, Ted Bay, Dolores Schwantes, Joe Lowling and Dave Timmerman. Motion by Lynn Moris, seconded by Bob Keeney, that the meeting was in compliance with the open meeting law. Motion carried. Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by John Patcle, to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Lynn Moris, to approve the minutes of the meeting held November 16, 2009. Motion carried. Joe Lolwing gave the grounds and maintenance report. Joe insulated pipes in the man hole. He checked on the hog barn roof and reported that there were no leaks since it was repaired. He took the barn door to be repaired at Klondyke Welding. The maintenance staff cleaned out the storage side of the grandstand. Joe presented plans for the showbarn stage backstop. He will rekey the concession stand. Delta 3 Engineering will be at the December 21 meeting to present the assessment and proposal for the Youth & Ag Center roof. Ted Bay presented UW-Extension business. Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Lynn Moris, to waive the fee for the use of tables for the WGLR Holiday Auction. Motion carried. Dolores Schwantes presented Fair and Fairgrounds business. The committee will ask for a contract from Tri-State Truck & Tractor for Friday night entertainment at the 2010 Grant County Fair. A letter was received from the Southwest Wisconsin Stock Car Association stating they do not wish to renew a contract for 2010. Motion by Kyle Vesperman, seconded by Vince Loeffelholz, to adjourn until December 21, 2009. Motion carried.
