Present, in addition to Chairman Adrian were: Committee Members Bob Keeney, Vince Loeffelholz, Lester Jantzen, Pat Schroeder, and Grant Loy; and John Patcle, Ted Bay, Joe Lolwing, Michael Erhard, Andy Phillips, Bob Middendorf and Dave Timmerman. The meeting notice was posted at the Administration Building, Extension Office, Youth & Ag Center and WGLR by Jenny Belscamper. Motion by Pat Schroeder, seconded by Bob Keeney, to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Attorney Michael Erhard, representing Joe Lolwing asked the Committee to provide individual examples of maintenance supervisor nonperformance that the committee was raising. Chairman Steve Adrian opened the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor discussion to explain the Agriculture and Extension Education/Fair Committee concerns with supervisor performance. Individual committee members also explained their concerns or commented on maintenance supervisor performance. The Committee was advised that Joe Lolwing’s job description provides that his immediate supervisor is the chair of the Ag & Extension Committee. The Committee was also advised that it would be discussing Joe Lolwing’s performance and then may take action regarding his employment with Grant County. Attorney Michael Erhard reviewed performance evaluation guidelines of the Grant County Employee Handbook. There was significant discussion between the Committee members, Joe Lolwing and Attorney Michael Erhard regarding Joe Lolwing’s performance as maintenance supervisor. Motion by Pat Schroeder, seconded by Bob Keeney, to move to closed session per State Statute 19.85(1)(a) “deliberating concerning a case which was the subject of any judicial or quasi-judicial trial or hearing before that government body,” to wit: to deliberate concerning the information presented in Agenda Item 4 (performance of Joe Lolwing). Roll call vote taken and passed unanimously. Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by Vince Loeffelholz to return to open session. Motion carried. Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Pat Schroeder, to place Joe Lolwing on administrative leave until April 26, 2011, and at that point terminate his employment with Grant County as Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor. Roll call vote taken. Voting yes - Bob Keeney, Grant Loy, Pat Schroeder, Steve Adrian. Voting no - Lester Jantzen, Vince Loeffelholz. Motion carried. Discussion was held on landscaping design plans surround the Eckstein Exhibit Hall. Motion by Lester Jantzen, seconded by Grant Loy, to adjourn. Motion carried.
