EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING
Monday, December 5, 2011
9:00 a.m.
UWEX Conference Room
Lancaster, WI
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Steve Adrian. Present, in addition to Chairman
Adrian were Bob Keeney, Vince Loeffelholz, Grant Loy, Pat Schroeder, John Patcle, Ted Bay,
Dolores Schwantes, Carla McAndrew, Rick Place, Kent Cohen and Angie Day.
The meeting notice was posted at the Administration Building, Extension Office, Youth & Ag
Center, and media by Jenny Dixon.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Grant Loy, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Carla McAndrew presented grounds and maintenance report.
Rick Place and Kent Cohen were present to discuss Lancaster Youth Baseball use of the Eckstein
Exhibit Hall. The organization will be called Lancaster Sluggers.
Motion by Pat Schroeder, seconded by Bob Keeney to purchase two baby changing stations and
ten self-draining recycling lids from Weber Paper Company. Motion carried.
Discussion of grounds and maintenance for after hour requests was held to develop a back up
plan or protocol for building access.
Angie Day was present to discuss the Big Wheels event.
Ted Bay presented Grant County Extension and Youth & Ag Center business.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Bob Keeney to pay November Extension and Youth
& Ag Center vouchers. Motion carried.
Dolores Schwantes presented Fair and Fairgrounds business.
Discussion of the 2012 fair theme was held.
Motion by Bob Keeney, seconded by Pat Schroeder to use Cruise on Over to the Grant County
Fair as the 2012 Grant County Fair theme. Motion carried.
Motion by Pat Schroeder, seconded by Vince Loeffelholz to pay November fair vouchers.
Motion carried.
Fair vendor space prices were discussed.
Motion by Pat Schroeder, seconded by Grant Loy, to go with Tri-State Truck and Tractor Pullers,
LLC for the 2012 Grant County Fair. Motion carried.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Grant Loy, to send the livestock claim from Lancaster
Veterinary Clinic in the amount of $197.30 on to the full county board. Motion carried.
Motion by Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Grant Loy, to adjourn until December 19, 2011 at
9:00 a.m. Motion carried.
