EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING
Monday, November 23, 2015
1:00 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by Committee Vice Chairman Pat Schroeder. Present, in addition to
Schroeder were Roger Guthrie, Mark Stead, Dan Timmerman, Bob Keeney, Bev Doll, Ted Bay,
Matt Hanson, Sarah Hopkins, Lori Vesperman, Amy Olson, Cathy McPhail and Kim Esser. John
Patcle and Grant Loy were excused.
The meeting notice was posted at the Administration Building, Extension Office, Youth & Ag
Center and media by Jenny Dixon.
Motion by Dan Timmerman, seconded by Grant Loy, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Grant Loy, seconded by Dan Timmerman, to go into closed session per state statue 19.85 (1) (c)
consideration of employment, promotion, compensation, and performance evaluations . Roll vote
unanimous. Motion carried.
Motion by Dan Timmerman, seconded by Grant Loy, to return to open session. Motion carried.
Motion by Roger Guthrie, seconded by Mark Stead, to create a 32-hour week Office Assistant II
position, for one year, for general 4-H program support and additional support where needed. Roll
call vote unanimous. Motion carried.
Amy informed the committee Joel Ames contacted her and disagrees with the new contract for
Classy Chassis participating in the 2016 Fair because she limited the number to 10 members that
could enter free of charge.
Motion by Dan Timmerman, seconded by Grant Loy, to allow the Classy Chassis 10 tickets for
entry into the 2016 Fair, and no tickets in 2017. Motion carried.
Kim Esser was present due to her concerns of staffing for the 4-H program and is in favor of
continuing to have support staff for 4-H.
Motion by Dan Timmerman, seconded by Mark Stead, to adjourn. Motion carried.
The next meeting is scheduled to be held December 21, 2015.
