HomeMy WebLinkAboutAugust 20 - FairAGRICULTURE AND EXTENSION EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING UWEX Conference Room Lancaster, WI Thursday August 20, 2015 10:00 a.m. The meeting was called to order by Committee Chairman John Patcle. Present in addition to Patcle were Grant Loy, Pat Schroeder, Roger Guthrie, Dan Timmerman, Bob Keeney, Mike Lieurance, Ted Bay, Amy Olson, Lori Vesperman, Steve Braun, Jack Johnson, Deb Reukauf, Jackie Edge, and Chuck and Lynn Waterman. Mark Stead was excused from the meeting. The meeting notice was posted at the Administration Building, Extension Office and Youth & Ag Center and media by Amy Olson. Motion by Pat Schroeder, seconded by Grant Loy, to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Jack Johnson reported he had speed signs placed on both sides of the fairgrounds to slow traffic. Deb Reukauf gave her police report. Chuck Waterman shared the carnival was down from this day last year. Next year is Calkins Midway 50th Anniversary. Chuck plans to restore a car ride the business used in its early days. Cost for this ride will be between 25-50 cents. He will donate the money from this ride to a charity in Grant County. Wednesday night entertainment was discussed. Lafayette County said they will return the check they received for the races, since they were cancelled. Expenses will be negotiated. Future events will have “No Refund” signs posted. All printed ads will read “No Refund.” Jackie Edge reported that Lancaster EMTs will be on call for Thursday night but there will not be a squad on the grounds. Lancaster’s squad will be on the grounds Friday night, Sunday and Sunday night with Platteville EMTs Friday night and Lancaster EMTs the remaining times. Saturday night Potosi’s squad with Potosi EMT’s will be on the grounds. Recessed at 10:35 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2015. Grant Loy Secretary Lori Vesperman Recording Secretary
