Home My WebLink AboutMinutes Aug 5 2015 FairAGRICULTURE AND EXTENSION EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING Wednesday, August 5, 2015 7:00 p.m. Youth & Ag Building Lancaster, WI The meeting was called to order by the Chairman John Patcle. Present, in addition to Patcle was Bob Keeney, Dan Timmerman, Patrick Schroeder, Grant Loy, Roger Guthrie, Mark Stead, Amy Olson and Kory Stalsberg. The meeting notice was posted in the Administration Building, Extension Office,. Youth & Ag Center and media by Amy Olson. Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Dan Timmerman to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Chairman Patcle introduced the new Dairy and Livestock Agent, Kory Stalsberg and welcomed the fair superintendents. Amy explained -to the superintendents what was in their packets and if they needed anything else to let her know. Amy informed the superintendents of the changes that were made in the livestock area. These included the RV camping, trailer parking and changes with stalling of the animals in the building. Kory then explained a load out schedule that he would like to incorporate this year. It was also mentioned that there will be a contract with each hauler this year. This contract is an agreement that the hauler holds harmless Grant County if anything should happen on the way to the locker plant. This contract will go before the Fair Committee for final approval on August 17. Amy expressed concerns of the arrangement of the Youth & Ag Building during fair. She would like to rearrange things to make it more accommodating to the department with an over flow of projects. The superintendents agreed to the proposal and Amy will work with Brian and Brenda to rearrange the building. Amy informed the superintendents that when the rodeo is done there will be fireworks. The beef need to do their tie outs after this is done. Amy went over some information from Janet regarding how to handle the judge's sheet and tags.
