The meeting was called to order by the Chairman Roger Guthrie. Present, in addition to Guthrie

Orth and Grant County Fair Superintendents.
The meeting notice was posted in the Administration Building, Extension Office, Youth & Ag
Center and media by Amy Olson.
Motion by Mark Stead, seconded by Grant Loy to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Chairman Guthrie welcomed the fair superintendents.
Amy explained to the superintendents what was in their packets and if they needed anything else
to let her know.
Amy informed the superintendents of the changes that were made in the livestock area. Swine
and goats can come in for vet check on Wednesday from 9am to 11am. Also, Reynolds Electric
will be putting in additional temporary electrical lines in the swine barn.
Discussed the lay out of the Youth & Ag Building and Crops Building during fair. All
Cloverbud entries will be moving to the Crops Building.
Amy informed the superintendents of the grandstand events and that when the rodeo is done
there will be fireworks again. Also, we will continue the ribbons for the junior classes.
Mr. & Mrs. Timmerman (FFA member’s parents) attended and asked to be heard on a matter
about fair. Their two children identified their steers and attended the educational seminars to sell
but did not make the deadline to enter their steers into the fair. Mr. Timmerman explained that it
was his fault that the papers were not turned in and wanted to know if there was anything the
board could do. Amy has talked to them twice and explained the procedures and deadlines prior
to them coming to this meeting. After further discussion the board moved to talk about this
matter at the next Ag & Extension Education/Fair Board meeting on Monday, August 7th.
Recess until organization meeting at 7:00pm
Respectfully submitted,
Amy Olson
