EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING
UWEX Conference Room
Lancaster, WI

August 20. 2022
10:00 a.m.
The meeting was called to order by the Committee Chairman Pat Schroeder. Present in addition to
Schroeder was Bob Keeney, Joe Mumm, Kathy Kopp, Roger Guthrie, Gary Northouse, Amy Olson,
Steve Braun, Travis Klaas, Justin McLimans, Charisse Orth, Amanda Caufmann, Vince Heiman, and
Kathi Mead.
The meeting notice was posted at the Administration Building, Extension Office and Youth & Ag Center
and media by Amy Olson.
Motion by Roger Guthrie, seconded by Kathy Kopp, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Policing – There were some issues with individuals riding lawn mowers around the fair and an OWI
arrest from the pit area was given.
Carnival - Vince reported on the carnival and turned in the financial statements from the previous day.
Steve Braun passed out the weather report. It’s going to be spotty today, but should be good after 5pm.
The board will gather in the grandstand area around 2pm to check the weather and track for the night’s
event.
Exhibits/Exhibitors – Discussion was held in reference to a family that broke the IAFE and Grant County
Fair code of ethics. A letter was drafted and will be sent to the family.
Entertainment – Schedule for the day was gone over.
