Present, Roger Guthrie, Bob Keeney, Kathy Kopp, Gary Northouse, Joe Mumm, Porter Wagner,
Amy Olson, Charisse Orth, Amanda Patterson, Brian Heinrichs, Brenda Schneider, and members
of the organization and superintendents that will be helping with operations of the fair.
Meeting notice was posted in the Fair & Extension lobbies and at the County Administration
building and sent to media.
Motion by Porter Wagner, seconded by Joe Mumm to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Discussion was held with food and beer organizations that were present. Nothing has majorly
changed for any of them including prices but our food prices will go up under the grandstand.
We will only sell beer in the infield and keep the seltzers under the grandstand so we are not
opening up so many boxes. Amy will have beer signs available for the organizations to use in
the infield.
Discussion on getting pre-cooked brats for the fair this year. Amy will call Haubers Meats and
see if they can get us pre-cooked brats to help cut down on the grease while cooking.
Discussion on having a tent or overhang on the east side of the grandstand to help keep the
grillers out of the elements. Maintenance will build something before fair.
We went over the schedule with the organizations so they know what time to be here and if they
need extra help to cover the infield. We will not be serving potatoes this year.
Discussion on rain insurance for the Badger State Tractor Pull. Motion by Gary Northouse,
seconded by Porter Wagner to not get rain insurance for that night of the fair. Motion carried.
7:00pm
Superintendents were given their fair packets.
We went over the schedule of vet check in times and the new system for swine check in was
explained. Amanda, Charisse, Joe, and Bob will meet with Tom Gerlech and explain it more
after the meeting in the swine barn.
Discussion was held on the drug testing of animals and procedures that will be done again this
year. Amy has all the times down for champion showing and will reach out to Sally Harper with
those times.
Pam Frank, poultry superintendent, would like chairs and tables again this year for under their
tent. They would like to put up the tent on Thursday afternoon. She would also like a barn fan.
A reminder was told to all livestock superintendent to please try and keep the livestock shows
including Sunday’s shows running on time. We publish times to the public so we need to be
mindful of that, along with the fact that if shows go late, we have exhibitors that need to be with
their animals for load out. Also, a reminder was given to them in regards to keeping the barns
clean and clutter free in the alleys. We had a lot of complaints last year.
Amanda went over the schedule for the hybrid auction regarding pictures of the exhibitors and
their animals and what time they will be taken at the fair.
Went over the grandstand line up with the superintendents and the fact that there will be
fireworks on Friday, August 19.
Motion by Joe Mumm, seconded by Kathy Kopp to adjourn. Motion carried.
Respectfully submitted
Amy Olson, CFE
