HomeMy WebLinkAbout10 Minutes October 17 2022AGRICULTURE AND EXTENSION EDUCATION/ FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING Monday, October 17, 2022 9:00 a.m. The October 17 meeting was held in the South Room of the Youth & Agriculture Center and by Zoom. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pat Schroeder. Present in person were Chairman Schroeder, Gary Northouse, Joe Mumm, Kathy Kopp, Porter Wagner, Bob Keeney, Lori Vesperman, Lynn Perkins, Shane Drinkwater, Amanda Cauffman, Charisse Orth, Bev Doll and Arnie Jennerman. Present by Zoom were James Schneider, Tonya White, David Timmerman and Amanda Degenhardt. Roger Guthrie was excused. The meeting notice was posted at the Extension Office, Youth & Agriculture Center, Administration Building, on the Grant County website and emailed to media. Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded by Joe Mumm, to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Motion by Kathy Kopp, seconded by Porter Wagner, to approve minutes of the meeting held September 26, 2022. Motion carried. Grant County Extension and Youth & Agriculture Center business was presented. Educator updates were given by Bev Doll, Amanda Cauffman, Charisse Orth and James Schneider. Lynn Perkins shared Kathy Lange’s report. Lynn Perkins gave the AED update. The FoodWIse Coordinator position posting closes October 19. The second invoice for 2022 Educator salaries should be coming soon. The 2023 Contract will hopefully be complete in November. Arnie Jenneman, Wisconsin Farm Technology Days General Manager, attended the meeting to give a presentation and discuss the possibility of Grant County being a host. He will attend a future meeting for further discussion. The snowmobile resolution was presented to the committee. Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded by Joe Mumm, to send the snowmobile resolution authorizing participation in public funding for snowmobile trails for the 2022-2023 snowmobile year, on to the full County Board for approval. The amount of grant funding is $122,670. Motion carried. Motion by Porter Wagner, seconded by Kathy Kopp, to approve Extension vouchers. Motion carried. Amy Olson was absent from the meeting due to an emergency. Grant County Fair Code of Conduct/Appeal Review will be tabled until next month.
