FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING
Monday, February 20, 2023
9:00 a.m.
The February 20 meeting was held in the Conference Room of the Extension Office at the Youth &
Agriculture Center. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pat Schroeder. Present in person
were Chairman Schroeder, Roger Guthrie, Gary Northouse, Joe Mumm, Kathy Kopp, Bob Keeney,
Lori Vesperman, Lynn Perkins, Shane Drinkwater, Amanda Cauffman, Charisse Orth, Bev Doll,
Kathy Lange, Maggie Milcarek, Joe Bonnell, Deb Reukauf, Ron Brisbois and Arnie Jenneman.
Porter Wagner was excused.
The meeting notice was posted at the Extension Office, Youth & Agriculture Center, Administration
Building, on the Grant County website and emailed to media.
Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded by Kathy Kopp, to approve the amended agenda. Motion
carried.
Motion by Joe Mumm, seconded by Roger Guthrie, to approve minutes of the meetings held
January 23 & February 2, 2023. Motion carried.
Grant County Extension and Youth & Agriculture Center business was presented.
Deb Reukauf presented information on the Teen Court Grant. Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded
by Joe Mumm, to approve applying for the grant. Motion carried.
Information was shared on behalf of James Schneider for the Snowmobile Bridge Application Grant
for the Arthur Club. Motion by Kathy Kopp, seconded by Roger, to approve James applying for the
grant. Motion carried.
Educator updates were given by Bev Doll, Amanda Cauffman, Charisse Orth and Joe Bonnell.
Lynn Perkins gave the AED update. There are two finalists for the 4-H Educator position in Iowa
County. Lafayette County now has a part time support staff person. Regional Ag Educators are
working on a needs assessment. Lynn introduced Maggie Milcarek as the FoodWIse Nutrition
Coordinator for Grant, Green, Iowa and Lafayette Counties and Maggie gave her report.
A discussion was held on Wisconsin Farm Technology Days with Arnie Jenneman, General
Manager. Arnie invited the committee to the April 5 meeting of the Farm Tech Board.
Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded by Kathy Kopp, to approve Extension vouchers. Motion
carried.
Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded by Joe Mumm, to decline paying the livestock claim for a dog
picked up in Belmont until the committee gets more information from the Grant County Humane
Society. Motion carried.
Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded by Roger Guthrie, to adjourn until March 27. Motion carried.
