EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING

8:30 a.m.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Roger Guthrie. Present in addition to Guthrie were Joe
Mumm, Pat Schroeder, Gary Northouse, Kathy Kopp, Mark Vosberg, Bob Keeney, Amy Olson, Lori
Vesperman, Charisse Orth, Kim Kester, Vince Heiman, Gabby Heiman, Nate Dreckman, Steve Braun and
Justin McLimans.
The meeting notice was posted at the Administration Building, Extension Office and Youth & Ag Center
and media by Amy Olson.
Motion by Joe Mumm, seconded by Kathy Kopp, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Carnival - Vince reported on the carnival and turned the financial statement in from Wednesday. They are
using kiosk stations for ticket purchases.
Policing – Someone drew on a vehicle near the swine barn.
Judging - no known issues.
Exhibits/exhibitors – One pig was brought to the fair that was not correctly identified. It will go to market
and the proceeds will go to the Fair.
Entertainment – Wednesday night races were rescheduled for Wednesday, August 21, due to rain.
Discussion was held on whether to hold the Badger State Tractor Pull. The decision will be made before
2:00 p.m.
Discussion was held on how many wood carvings to auction off and how many to donate.
Motion by, Gary Northouse, seconded by Joe Mumm to recess until Friday at 8:30 a.m. Motion carried
