EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING

The meeting was called back to order by the Committee Chairman Roger Guthrie. Present in addition to
Guthrie was Bob Keeney, Joe Mumm, Pat Schroeder, Kathy Kopp, Gary Northouse, Mark Vosberg,
Travis Klaas, Steve Braun, Justin McLimans, Vince and Gabby Heiman,, Kim Kester, Charisse Orth, and
Amy Olson.
The meeting notice was posted at the Administration Building, Extension Office and Youth & Ag Center
and media by Amy Olson.
Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded by Kathy Kopp, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Carnival - Vince reported on the carnival and turned the financial statement in from Friday. Amy
expressed a concern that the water guns that are given as prizes from the carnival are being used in the
bathrooms by kids making a mess and a hazard, leaving water everywhere. Vince said he would pull
them.
Policing – Someone lost a wallet
Emergency Management – Chance of thunderstorms today, Sunday looks good.
Entertainment – Discussion on Friday night races. Steve Braun would like to have them stop the practice
laps when EMS are by the track helping someone. They do have the caution yellow flag and racers are
still moving on the track which makes it dangerous for everyone. Steve did offer them a head set.
Any other business – Need a sign over by the grandstand to say credit card and cash with an arrow to help
attendees know where to pay. Steve Braun will make one. Outstanding fair person will be presented
before the auction. Fair board members will hand out plaques.
Motion by, Gary Northouse, seconded by Joe Mumm to recess until Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Motion carried
