EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING

The meeting was called back to order by the Committee Chairman Roger Guthrie. Present in addition to
Guthrie was Bob Keeney, Joe Mumm, Pat Schroeder, Kathy Kopp, Gary Northouse, Mark Vosberg,
Travis Klaas, Steve Braun, Justin McLimans, Vince and Gabby Heiman, Kim Kester, Charisse Orth, and
Amy Olson.
The meeting notice was posted at the Administration Building, Extension Office and Youth & Ag Center
and media by Amy Olson.
Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded by Kathy Kopp, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Carnival - Vince reported on the carnival and turned the financial statement in from Saturday.
Policing – Justin and Travis reports an incident in the ladies’ bathroom last night. It is still under
investigation.
Exhibits/exhibitors – Discussion on pig load out on Monday. Truckers, superintendents, etc will be there
at 4:30am with exhibitors there around 7am to clean.
Entertainment – Went over the schedule for the day and Wednesday night racing make up night. The
board will be there at 3pm and all other organizations will be there at 4pm. Discussed about having better
lighting in the crow’s nest for the organizations and building a shelf that is retractable for people to sit
their food on.
Auction – The new sound system worked great during fair but during the auction it was muffled and very
loud in the back barn. Tim from Tower Sound did his best to fix it, Amy will reach out to Jeff at Tower
Sound to see what can be done.
Motion by, Pat Schroeder, seconded by Joe Mumm to adjourn to September meeting. Motion carried
