Board Minutes
9/17/14
The meeting was called to order by Chair Mary Lou Bausch at 9:00 a.m. at the ADRC Large
Conference Room, 8820 Hwy 35/61 South, Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Attendance: Carrie Bell, Larry Wolf, Lester Jantzen, Dave Janney, Jan Lintvedt, Mary Lou Bausch,
Shirley Pink
Excused: Jan Lintvedt, Linda Adrian
Others Present: Lori Reid, Robert Keeney
Compliance with Open Meeting Law:
It was noted the meeting is in compliance with the open meeting act. (Published via website, radio,
newspaper and posted at the Grant County Administration Building).
Agenda Approval:
Jantzen/Wolf: Motion to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes – August 20, 2014:
Wetter/Janney: Motion to approve August 20, 2014 minutes. Motion carried.
Public Comment/Communication:
Reid introduced Crystal Riley. Crystal is the new Admin. Asst.
Shirley Pink introduced and announced “Make a Difference Day”- food provided,
transport, prizes and socialization. October 18th, 2014@ Lancaster Middle School. Open
to anyone.
Advocacy Reports or Activities:
ADRC Regional Board Mtg. Report: Training was provided to board on long term care
and eligibility. Board members received a presentation on the Functional Screen used
by Information and Assistance Specialists to determine functional eligibility for long
term care. Next meeting will cover case studies and success stores (next meeting in
Dodgeville on October 23rd, no meeting in November, December 4 th in Monroe.
Supported Employment for Persons with Disabilities: Lori sent letter on behalf of board
to Division of Long-term Care regarding the Proposed Changes to Family Care Waivers in
Response to CMS Regulations.
GWAAR Conference Update: Janney, Bausch, and Reid all attended the conference.
Reid also attended a pre-conference on hospital transitions –working with hospitals and
local providers to try and reduce hospital re-admissions. Board members attended
workshops on brain fitness, transportation, investment scams, Fighting Falls, Living Well

with Diabetes, Think Big; Think Power, LGBT, Setting Nutritional Habits, and affordable
care.
2015 Budget:
Reid discussed that the budget does include a 2% wage increase. There was a slight
increases in insurance but much less than originally expected. We budget less carry
over than 2014. Includes $70,000 carry over and $30,000 from Nutrition trust. Increase
over last years’ budget is $42,545. Includes $70,000 in carryover and 30,000 in carryover
from Nutrition trust.
Wetter/Bell: Motion to approve 2015 budget. Motion carried.
85.21 Transportation Resolution : Application for Bus & TRIPS Program. Allocation is $121,968
with 20% co-match by county of $24,394.
Wetter/Pink: Motion to approve 85.21 Transportation Resolution. Motion carried.
85.20 Transportation Resolution: Specialized Transit and City Taxi’s. Reid reported that the
funding allocation was not available yet but grant is due in October.
Jantzen/Wolf: Motion to approve 85.20 Transportation Resolution. Motion carried.
Financial Report: Reid reported that unemployment expenses are estimated and do not use a
percentage. Family Caregiver program has had a higher number of respite requests. Reid
explained the hour limits for support and how determined.
Wetter/Bell: Motion to accept finance report as presented. Motion carried.
Vouchers:
Wetter/Pink: Motion to approved payment of vouchers. Motion carried.
ADRC-Grant County Director’s Report/Program Reports: Reid meeting with Linda Davis for
market study. Nutrition council going out to meal sites as part of assessment review. Program
Reports were handed out.
