Board Minutes
June 20, 2018
The meeting was called to order by Robert Keeney at 9:00 a.m. at the ADRC Large Conference Room,
8820 HWY 35/61 South, Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Attendance: Robert Keeney, Dave Janney, Arnold Rawson, Lori Reid, Lester Jantzen, Dale Hood, JoAnne
Blume
Others Present: Courtney Brookhart, Shane Drinkwater, Joyce Roling
Compliance with Open Meeting Law:
It was noted the meeting is in compliance with the open meeting act. (Published via website, radio,
newspaper and posted at the Grant County Administration Building).
Agenda Approval:
Hood/Janney: Motion to approve the amended agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: April 20, 2018
Jantzen/Rawson: Motion to approve April 20, 2018 minutes. Motion carried.
New Board Members
Introductions were done around the room for the new board member.
Election of Officers:
Keeney opened nominations for Chair. Rawson nominated Dave Janney. No other nominations were
cast.
Rawson/Hood: Motion to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Janney as Chair. Motion
carried.
Keeney opened nominations for Vice Chair. Jantzen nominated Dale Hood. No other nominations were
cast.
Rawson/Janney: Motion to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Hood as Vice Chair.
Motion carried.
Keeney opened nominations for Secretary. Hood nominated Lester Jantzen. No other nominations were
cast.
Rawson/Janney: Motion to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Jantzen as Secretary.
Motion carried.
Regional Members: Reid stated what the position as a regional member entails. Hood nominated Dave
Janney.
Jantzen/Rawson: Motion to close nominations and cast unanimous ballot for Janney to be
recommended as Regional Board Member for appointment by the County Board. Motion carried.
Public Comment/Communication:
Building Update: Reid and Keeney updated the committee on the progress of the building.
Dementia Care Specialist Report: Reid went over Pam’s current initiatives of working with
Boscobel businesses on dementia friendly training.
Advocacy Reports or Activities:
ADRC Regional Board Meeting Report – Hood and Reid discussed what was presented at the
regional meeting. The state conference will be in September; Reid will present more information
as it is received. Reid passed out information regarding the Advocacy Day discussions in May.
OAA Funding – Reid passed around a fact sheet with nutrition program statistics.
Aging Plan 2019-2021 Draft
Reid went over the 2019-2021 Aging Goals.
Approval of Vouchers:
Hood/Jantzen: Motion to approve the vouchers. Motion carried.
Financial Report:
Rawson/Jantzen: Motion to approve financial report. Motion carried.
Approve Vehicle Disposal of 2007 Taxi
Reid stated this vehicle was replaced earlier this year. Reid has requested verification from the state for
disposal but a motion is needed from the committee as well.
Jantzen/Hood: Motion to dispose of 2007 taxi vehicle. Motion carried.
Reports
ADRC Grant County Director’s Report
Farmer’s Market voucher program has started. Information and Assistance Specialists are
visiting all of the meal sites to offer the program.
Reid met with auditors on WISDOT grants.
Hosted the May LEAN lunch. Nicole Baumeister and Miriah Glasbrenner presented projects
they have been working on.
Meal site managers met on May 22 for continued training.
Reid and Glasbrenner attended the Southwest WI Transit Team meeting to discuss regional
coordination plan goals on transportation.
Reid attended County Budget workshop.
ADRC and Aging staff attended a Customer Service and Team Building training in Dodgeville.
ADRC – Program Reports
Reid asked if the board would like to see the program reports in a different format in the future.
Staff will work on new formats for the next meeting.
Closed Session
Rawson/Jantzen: Motion to go into closed session per state statute 19.85(1)(c) for the consideration of
employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over
which the government body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility – for the purpose of evaluating
the ADRC Director and to include Joyce Roling. Roll Call: Yes – Jantzen, Hood, Keeney, Janney, Rawson,
Blume. No – none. Motion Carried.
Next meeting: July 30, 2018
