HomeMy WebLinkAbout04 Board Meeting Minutes-April 2021-APPROVEDAging & Disability Resource Center of Grant County Board Minutes April 21, 2021 The meeting was called to order by Chair Carolyn VanDeWiel at 9:00 a.m. via a Zoom meeting. Attendance: Carolyn VanDeWiel, Dale Hood, Lester Jantzen, Gary Kjos, Rob Bell, Arnold Rawson, Robert Keeney, Lori Reid, Excused: Pat Reynolds Others Present: Courtney Brookhart, Tonya White, Amanda Degenhardt, Fred Naatz Compliance with Open Meeting Law: It was noted the meeting is in compliance with the open meeting act. (Published via website, radio, newspaper and posted at the Grant County Administration Building). Agenda Approval: Hood/Bell: Motion to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes: March 17, 2021 VanDeWiel noted the wrong date of the ADRC Regional Board meeting. Bell noted spelling error. Bell/Kjos: Motion to approve March 17, 2021 amended minutes. Motion carried. Public Comment/Communication:  Building Update – Facility Storage: Reid stated things are moving forward with the ADRC portion of the vehicle storage facility. Keeney noted that progress will depend on bids and material costs but hoping for the building to be up this year yet. Advocacy Reports or Activities:  ADRC Regional Board Meeting Report – VanDeWiel stated that there was no meeting in March but the next meeting is tomorrow, April 22.  Disability Advocacy Day of Action – Reid attended the event and thought it went well and there was fairly good turnout.  Aging Advocacy Day – May 10 & May 12 – Flyers were sent out in the board packets. Reid stated that the 10th is for training and the 12th is when attendees will meet with legislators.  OAA Celebration – May 14 – Reid explained the OAA event. It will be held at the ADRC office building from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Attendees will be asked to fill out a survey and receive a Senior Resource Guide, refreshments, and a prize or swag. Reid shared that the ADRC is hosting an Identity Theft Webinar on May 13 via Zoom with Jeff Kersten presenting from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Reid is also planning a parking lot bingo even in June in coordination with Agrace Hospice. Agrace has done this event before in other counties. ADRC Re-opening Considerations Reid reviewed the re-opening plans. Reid has discussed re-opening with Jeff Kindrai, Grant County Health Officer. The re-opening plan is based on the activity level of Covid-19 cases. Grant County is still in a high risk level. Reid said she will continue to monitor the situation but at this time still plans to re- open the office in June. Discussion was had on if the office should limit walk-ins or be open by appointment only. Keeney provided statistical data on positive cases per month. Fred Naatz, Director of Social Services, shared that his department is also continuing to monitor the level of Covid-19 cases. Naatz would prefer not to re-open too much more until the level is at medium risk. Food Provider Request for Bids Update Brookhart shared that Letters of Intent to Bid and Proof of Responsibility were due on April 16. Brookhart stated that all current food providers sent letters of intent and proof of responsibility. Sealed bids are due May 14 and will be opened the following week at the board meeting on May 19. Approval of Vouchers Hood noted the difference of prices of oil changes at different vendors. VanDeWiel asked about a vehicle repair. Kjos/Rawson: Motion to approve vouchers. Motion carried. Financial Report: Bell/Kjos: Motion to approve financial report. Motion carried. Reports ADRC Grant County Director’s Report  Reid did a survey with office staff to determine re-opening concerns/questions  April is Volunteer Recognition month and staff are disbursing volunteer appreciation gifts  Reid has been working on Elderfest planning  Reid is continuing to work on the Aging Plan and Aging Surveys  A Medicare 101 Webinar will be provided on May 21 with Emily, the Elder Benefit Specialist ADRC – Program Reports Reid shared that program numbers are consistent.
