HomeMy WebLinkAbout03 Board Meeting Minutes-March 2022-APPROVEDAging & Disability Resource Center of Grant County Board Minutes March 16, 2022 The meeting was called to order by Chair Dale Hood at 9:00 a.m. via a Zoom meeting. Attendance: Lori Reid, Gary Kjos, Arnold Rawson, Rob Bell, Vicki Hirsch, Dale Hood, Lester Jantzen, Pat Reynolds, Robert Keeney Others Present: Courtney Brookhart, David Timmerman Compliance with Open Meeting Law: It was noted the meeting is in compliance with the open meeting act. (Published via website, radio, newspaper and posted at the Grant County Administration Building). Agenda Approval: Reid asked that agenda item 11 be removed. Jantzen/Kjos: Motion to approve the agenda with the removal of item #11. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes: February 16, 2022 Reynolds/Rawson: Motion to approve the February 16, 2022 minutes. Motion carried. Public Comment/Communication: • Reid shared that a letter was sent to Nutrition Council members about the proposed increase of the suggest donation with the board meeting information. No comments or concerns were received before the meeting. • Hood shared that this would be his last meeting. He expressed his gratitude to the department and board members. Reid thanked him for his service. Advocacy Reports or Activities: • ADRC Regional Board Meeting Report – Hood stated that the last meeting was usual business. • Disability Advocacy Day – Zoom - March 23, 2022 at 10 a.m.-noon – Reid shared that the Disability Advocacy Day is scheduled for March 23 and it will be done virtually. If anyone is interested, please let Reid know and she will send registration information. • Aging Advocacy Day – May 11, 2022 Virtual – Times TBD – This year Aging Advocacy Day will be done virtually as well. The times have not been determined yet but Reid will share that information when it is available. Reid is working on reports that will be shared with legislatures. Transportation Costs/Programming Reid discussed the handout showing current program costs for the taxi, wheelchair, and Trips programs. Reid do more analysis and bring more data to the next meeting to be discussed by the board. Nutrition Program Suggested Donation Reid talked about the nutrition donation policy. Currently, the suggested donation is $3.50 a meal. There was discussion on actual expenses and what the suggested donation is at neighboring counties. Kjos/Reynolds: Motion to increase the Nutrition program’s suggested donation to $4.00 a meal. Motion carried. Meal Site Opening Plan Reid stated that meal sites have not re-opened yet but is hoping to do so the first week of April. Reid discussed that there are a few sites that may not be able to open right away due to a low volunteer status. Cook Vacancy Reid shared that the head cook in Boscobel passed away. Reid received approval from Hood to post the position but needs approval from the committee to fill the vacancy. This position is 36 hours a week and has prorated benefits. Rawson/Reynolds: Motion to fill the Head Cook vacancy. Motion carried. Approval of Vouchers: Rawson asked about Meals on Wheels membership. Kjos/Rawson: Motion to approve the vouchers. Motion carried. Financial Report: Jantzen/Hirsch: Motion to approve financial report. Motion carried. Reports ADRC Grant County Director’s Report • Three drivers have been hired: bus driver, sub taxi/wheelchair driver, and nutrition van driver • The first session of Yoga for Seniors has been completed ADRC – Program Reports • I&A contacts and DBS cases are quite high • Reid is hoping to start some bus routes in April Jantzen/Hirsch: Motion to adjourn.
