HomeMy WebLinkAbout08 Board Meeting Minutes-August 2022-APPROVEDAging & Disability Resource Center of Grant County Board Minutes August 17, 2022 The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Gary Kjos at 9:00 a.m. Attendance: Lori Reid, Gary Kjos, Arnold Rawson, Rob Bell, Kathy Kopp, Robert Keeney, Diane Nelson, Pat Reynolds, Vicki Hirsch Others Present: Courtney Brookhart, Shane Drinkwater, Joyce Roling Compliance with Open Meeting Law: It was noted the meeting is in compliance with the open meeting act. (Published via website, radio, newspaper and posted at the Grant County Administration Building and CSB). Agenda Approval: Nelson/Reynolds: Motion to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes: July 20, 2022 Bell/Kopp: Motion to approve the July 20, 2022 minutes. Motion carried. Public Comment/ADRC Communication:  Public Hearing Comments: Reid stated there were no in-person attendees but they did receive a survey in the mail. This individual just stated there should in an increase in funding for senior resources/services.  Advocacy Reports – Long term care, Transporation: Reid shared information and handouts on the budget priorities for long term care and transportation.  ADRC Regional Board Meeting Report – Bell shared that Ben Biddick, the new Dementia Care Specialist, was introduced and shared that Biddick has set up a biweekly podcast. 2023 Budget Reid reviewed the budget and discussed a few changes that had been made. Kopp asked about insurance and wage increases. Hirsch/Rawson: Motion to approve the 2023 budget and send on to the Executive Committee. Motion carried. Marketing Events – Fair, Elderfest Reid shared that ADRC will have a table in the Eckstein Building this Friday, August 19 for Senior Day at the Grant County Fair. Seniors can attend the fair free of charge from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reid stated that Elderfest will be Friday, October 28 at the Youth & Ag Building. The event will be in- person and about six vendors signed up so far. The IT Department will be there with a booth as well as the Health Department for a vaccine clinic. There will be light refreshments and a local musician playing music throughout the event. DOT Drug & Alcohol Policy Revision Reid presented the revised DOT Drug & Alcohol Policy. Joyce Roling, Personnel Director, did not have any issues with the policy. Reid stated it is a state template. Kopp questioned if fentanyl is an opioid; Roling understood fentanyl to fall under the opioid category. Bell/Hirsch: Motion to approve the DOT Drug & Alcohol Policy. Motion carried. Transportation Resolution 5311/85.20 - Taxi Reid reviewed and read the Transportation Resolution 5311/85.20. Bell/Rawson: Motion to approve the Transportation Resolution 5311/85.20. Motion carried. Transportation Resolution 85.21 – Bus, Trips, Wheelchair Van Reid reviewed and read the Transportation Resolution 85.21. Kopp/Nelson: Motion to approve the Transportation Resolution 85.21. Motion carried. Building Campus Update – Security, Vehicle Storage Reid stated that the vehicle storage building is not completed yet but work is progressing. Reid reported that the Department of Social Services (DSS) doors have remained locked for some time and that keeping the doors locked and adding an intercom as well as bulletproof glass at their reception desk was being discussed. She also thought that locking the whole building was a possibility. The department heads that reside in the building were going to meet and discuss. Reid stated that she was not in favor of the CSB building being locked nor would she favor the ADRC door being locked. Reid stated that we do have more DSS consumers coming into the ADRC office since their office has remained locked. Approval of Vouchers Reynolds/Nelson: Motion to approve the vouchers. Motion carried. Financial Report: Bell/Rawson: Motion to approve financial report. Motion carried. Reports ADRC Grant County Director’s Report  Reid has been working on budget, DOT policy, and planning Fair and Elderfest events. ADRC – Program Reports Reid reviewed programs reports. Hirsch/Reynolds: Motion to adjourn. Motion carried. Next meeting: September 21, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.
