HomeMy WebLinkAbout11 Board Meeting Minutes-November 2022-UNAPPROVEDAging & Disability Resource Center of Grant County Board Minutes November 16, 2022 The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Gary Kjos at 9:00 a.m. Attendance: Robert Keeney, Diane Nelson, Kathy Kopp, Vicki Hirsch, Rob Bell, Gary Kjos, Arnold Rawson, Pat Reynolds, Lori Reid Others Present: Courtney Brookhart, Tonya White Compliance with Open Meeting Law: It was noted the meeting is in compliance with the open meeting act. (Published via website, radio, newspaper and posted at the Grant County Administration Building and CSB). Agenda Approval: Kopp/Nelson: Motion to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes: September 21, 2022 Reynolds/Nelson: Motion to approve the September 21, 2022 minutes. Motion carried. Public Comment/ADRC Communication:  Advocacy: there was nothing to note at this time.  ADRC Regional Board Meeting Report: Bell reported that the meeting was regular business. Nelson shared information about an end-of-life course that UW-Extension offered.  Public Hearing for 85.21 Grant, November 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.: Reid informed the committee of the upcoming public hearing, which is a requirement for the grant. Elderfest Recap Reid shared information from Elderfest. There were 30 vendors that participated in the event and 361 ADRC bags were distributed. Vendors and participants had positive feedback. The Health Department’s vaccine clinic did very well this year, too. Cuba City Meal Site Manager Vacancy Reid spoke with Committee Chair Kjos to have the position posted but a motion was still needed to fill the position. At this time, there has been no applications received. Hirsch/Rawson: Motion to fill the Cuba City Meal Site Manager position. Motion carried. Request Funds from Eckstein for Nutrition Vehicle Reid stated that there are two nutrition vehicles in rough shape. Reid would like to reach out to Eckstein to possibly apply for a grant for a nutrition vehicle. Hirsch/Kopp: Motion to give Reid discretion to apply for an Eckstein grant for a nutrition vehicle. Motion carried. Platteville Meal Site Reid met with the City of Platteville and attended a Platteville Commission on Aging about the relocation of the meal site. Kopp stated that the City is moving forward with a new fire station at the current meal site location. The City is looking into a space at City Hall that could potentially be used by the Platteville Senior Center and the meal site but there would need to be some remodeling/construction done. Reid will continue to talk and work with the Senior Center and City about potential outcomes. Meal Cost Reid discussed the meal cost tool that is required to be done every year. It was required to do three costs: carryout meals, home-delivered meals, and congregate meals. Reid explained that carryout and home-delivered meals are part of the same program and funding source so she refigured the cost including those components resulting in $13.07 per meal. This meal cost is used for the reimbursement from long-term care programs. Bell/Kopp: Motion to approve the meal cost of $13.07 per meal. Motion carried. Dispose of Buses – 2008 Supreme, 2011 Star Trans, 2006 Ford Reid discussed the condition of the buses. One has been sitting in the ADRC parking lot since the beginning of the pandemic. The other two buses were being used by SOC but they are not in good condition either. Reid stated that the buses would most likely go to the Wisconsin Surplus Auction. Rawson/Hirsch: Motion to approve of the disposal of the 2008, 2011, and 2006 buses. Motion carried. Approval of Vouchers Keeney asked for clarification on the TDS payments. Reynolds/Kjos: Motion to approve the vouchers. Motion carried. Financial Report: Reid reported that the DOT is not allowing indirect costs to be charged to transportation programs. Bell/Hirsch: Motion to approve financial report. Motion carried. Reports ADRC Grant County Director’s Report  Reid shared the dementia events that have taken place recently  Caregiver Renewal Day is Friday, November 18  Reid discussed ideas about Title IIID options  The nursing home in Cuba City will be closing. Reid and Nicole Baumeister have been meeting and helping with the transition  Reid completed the Meal Cost Tool for the Nutrition Program ADRC – Program Reports  Brookhart shared annual changes in the nutrition program. While approximately 880 less meals were served, there was an increase in donations of $3,517.  Reid reviewed I&A and transportation numbers Bell/Nelson: Motion to adjourn. Motion carried.
