HomeMy WebLinkAbout03 Board Meeting Minutes-March 2023-APPROVEDAging & Disability Resource Center of Grant County Board Minutes March 15, 2023 The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Gary Kjos at 9:00 a.m. Attendance: Robert Keeney, Kathy Kopp, Vicki Hirsch, Gary Kjos, Arnold Rawson, Lori Reid, Diane Nelson Others Present: Courtney Brookhart, Shane Drinkwater, Tonya White Excused: Rob Bell Compliance with Open Meeting Law: It was noted the meeting is in compliance with the open meeting act. (Published via website, radio, newspaper and posted at the Grant County Administration Building and CSB). Amended Agenda Approval: Rawson/Kopp: Motion to approve the amended agenda. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes: February 15, 2023 Nelson/Hirsch: Motion to approve the amended February 15, 2023 minutes. Motion carried. Public Comment/ADRC Communication: • Customer Comments: Reid shared recent comments from consumers thanking the ADRC staff for their great work, helping families, and always being pleasant to work with. Advocacy Reports or Activities • ADRC Regional Board Meeting Report: Reid and Nelson shared information from the last meeting including upcoming events and budget items. • Disability Advocacy Day – Thursday, March 23, 2023, In-person 10 a.m.-3 p.m. – Reid shared information on the upcoming event. • Alzheimer Advocacy Day – Tuesday, March 7, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. – Reid shared information on the upcoming event. • Aging Advocacy Day – Tuesday, May 9, 2023 – Reid usually attends this event and shares information with legislators. The event is normally 10 a.m.-3 p.m. generally. • Regional Coordinated Transp. Plan Public Hearing – Tuesday, April 18, 11: 30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., CSB – This will be held in the Training Room at the CSB and a lunch will be provided. Vehicle Update Reid reviewed that $36,000 was budgeted to purchase one or two nutrition vehicles this year. With the Platteville meal site moving and not having the Senior Center van available for delivering meals, Reid purchased a van for approximately $23,000. Reid stated the CSZD is looking to purchase a new vehicle and would be willing to let the program borrow or use their older vehicle if needed for the Bagley van. Platteville Meal Site Manager Vacancy Reid and Brookhart received a resignation letter from Ashley Heinz to pursue a full-time position. Reid worked with the Personnel department to get the ad posted this week with the Cuba City manager position. Hirsch/Kopp: Motion to approve to fill the Platteville Meal Site Manager vacancy. Motion approved. Platteville Meal Site Update Reid and Ben Wood, Corporation Counsel, have reviewed the lease from the Platteville Armory group. Reid will be submitting the lease that afternoon. While the lease starts April 1, they have approved letting maintenance staff move equipment and supplies on March 31. Reid and Brookhart have spoken with GWAAR and congregate dining will be suspended for a while after the move until a better setting can be established. Confidentiality Policy Reid shared the policy. Conflict of Interest Policy Reid shared the policy. Approval of Vouchers Rawson/Nelson: Motion to approve vouchers. Motion carried. Financial Report: Hirsch/Kopp: Motion to approve financial report. Motion carried. Reports ADRC Grant County Director’s Report • Reid is starting to work on ideas for Senior Day at the Fair and Elderfest. • AARP tax appointments have filled up quickly. • May is Older American Act month and Emily Reuter, EBS, will be hosting another Medicare 101 presentation. ADRC, DSS, Sheriff’s Office and IT, along with Jeff Kersten, DATCP, will be presenting and sharing information on common scams targeting seniors on May 5. • Reid has been attending county meetings exploring ways to improve employee retention. ADRC – Program Reports • ADRC numbers were not available yet. • Nutrition report was disbursed. Nelson/Kopp: Motion to adjourn. Motion carried. Next meeting: April 19, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.
