HomeMy WebLinkAbout08 Board Meeting Minutes August 2024-ApprovedAging & Disability Resource Center of Grant County Board Minutes August 21, 2024 The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Gary Kjos at 9:00 a.m. Attendance: Vicki Hirsch, Mark Stead, Lori Reid, Kathy Kopp, Robert Keeney, Lester Jantzen, Gary Kjos, Valerie Bailey Others Present: Courtney Brookhart, Tonya White (z) Compliance with Open Meeting Law: It was noted the meeting is in compliance with the open meeting act. (Published via website, radio, newspaper and posted at the Grant County Administration Building and CSB). Agenda Approval: Jantzen/Kopp: Motion to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes: July 17, 2024 Bailey/Stead: Motion to approve the amended July 17, 2024 minutes. Motion carried. Public Comment/Communication: Reid stated she has conflict of interest and confidentiality policies that each committee member needs to sign. Advocacy Reports or Activities • ADRC Regional Board Report: no discussion. • Farmers Market Program: Reid reviewed the program. Disbursement started June 1 and participants must be income and age eligible. • Upcoming Events: o Medicare 101 – Aug. 23, CSB o Healthy Living with Diabetes – Sept. 24 – Oct. 29, Tuesdays, Virtual 9:30 a.m. o Mind Over Matter: Healthy Bowels, Healthy Bladder – 10/14, 28 & 11/11, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. This will also be offered as in-person in Montfort this fall. o Bus at Orchard Manor Car Show, Friday, Sept. 13, 1:30 p.m. o Elderfest, October 25, Youth & Ag, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. • Advocacy Reports: o Rep Van Orden delivered meals in Lancaster. Reid discussed the Grant County nutrition program with him. Nutrition Update – Meal Site Manager Vacancy, Boscobel Rent Increase Reid stated that there is a vacancy for the Fennimore meal site manager position. Jantzen/Hirsch: Motion to fill the Fennimore meal site manager vacancy. Motion carried. Reid indicated that there would an increase to the Boscobel meal site rent. The City of Boscobel decided to purchase a dishwasher and has asked for increase to assist in the maintenance of the machine. Bailey/Hirsch: Motion to approve the increase of rent for the Boscobel meal site from $3,600 to $4,380. Motion carried. Aging Plan Goals Reid discussed the goals for the 2025-2027 aging plan. Kopp asked the timeline for the aging plan. Reid stated the full draft will be sent to GWAAR for any comments and a public hearing will be held before the plan is completed. Kopp/Bailey: Motion to approve the 2025-2027 aging plan goals. Motion carried. 5311 & 85.20 DOT Grant for Taxi Reid noted that the grant was approved by the County Board the day before, pending committee approval. Reid reviewed the 85.20 transportation grant and explained that it is used for the taxi program. Stead/Jantzen: Motion to approve the Transportation Resolution 85.20/5311. Motion carried. 85.21 DOT Grant for Bus, Taxi, TRIPS, & Wheelchair Van Reid noted that the grant was approved by the County Board the day before, pending committee approval. Reid reviewed the 85.21 transportation grant and explained that it is used for the bus, taxi, TRIPS, and wheelchair van programs. Jantzen/Stead: Motion to approve the Transportation Resolution 85.21. Motion carried. Budget 2025 Reid reviewed the preliminary 2025 budget. Keeney explained the TM budget process. No approval is needed at this time. Approval of Vouchers Stead asked about a couple vehicle repair expenses. Kopp/Jantzen: Motion to approve vouchers. Motion carried. Financial Report A new YTD Budget Report was disbursed this month that includes both Revenues and Expenses. Hirsch/Bailey: Motion to accept the financial report. Motion carried. Reports ADRC – Grant County Director’s Report • ADRC had a table in the Eckstein Building for Senior Day at the Grant County Fair on Friday, August 16 • Reid and staff are planning Elderfest. • ADRC was awarded $90,000 from the Eckstein Foundation to purchase two nutrition vans for the Boscobel and Lancaster/Bagley areas. ADRC – Programs Report • Brookhart noted the decrease in family care meals being provided. • Reid reiterated that I&A contacts are consistently high in the region. Stead/Hirsch: Motion to adjourn.
