Board Minutes
September 18, 2024
The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Gary Kjos at 9:00 a.m.
Attendance: Vicki Hirsch, Mark Stead, Lori Reid, Robert Keeney, Lester Jantzen, Gary Kjos, Valerie
Bailey
Others Present: Courtney Brookhart, Molly Bohn, Nate Dreckman, Tonya White (z)
Excused: Kathy Kopp
Compliance with Open Meeting Law:
It was noted the meeting is in compliance with the open meeting act. (Published via website, radio,
newspaper and posted at the Grant County Administration Building and CSB).
Agenda Approval:
Stead/Bailey: Motion to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: August 21, 2024
Bailey/Jantzen: Motion to approve the amended August 21, 2024 minutes. Motion carried.
Public Comment/Communication:
• Molly Bohn from Congressman Derrick Van Orden’s office spoke about delivering meals at
the Lancaster site last month.
• Nate Dreckman introduced himself as he will become the County Administrator October 1.
Advocacy Reports or Activities
• Upcoming Events:
o Advancing the Science at Any Given Moment: The Latest in Alzheimer’s & Dementia
Research, October 27, 2:00-3:00 pm Virtual
o Home Sweet Home, October 2, 4:00-6:00 pm Muscoda Library: this is workshop with
the Dementia Care Specialist about home adaptions.
o Boost Your Brain & Memory, October 9-November 20, 10:00-11:30 am Virtual
o Elderfest, October 25, 9:00-11:30 am – Need Volunteers! Reid asked members if
they are available to volunteer at the event.
o Memory Screens, November 6 – Lancaster Library, and November 7 – Boscobel
Library
o Mind Over Matter – Virtual and in-person, Montfort
• ADRC Regional Board Mtg. Report
o Reid stated the next meeting is September 26. Most of the discussion right now is on
the new statewide database that will be implemented in October/November.
2025 Budget
Reid reviewed the budget. There is currently an increase of approximately $20,000 in county levy.
Most of the increase is wages, health insurance, and meal costs.
Stead/Hirsh: Motion to approve the 2025 budget. Motion carried.
Fill Food Van Driver Vacancy
Reid stated that the north van route driver is resigning and asked to fill the position.
Bailey/Jantzen: Motion to fill the food van driver vacancy. Motion carried.
Approval of Vouchers
Report was disbursed. Brookhart answered questions.
Hirsch/Jantzen: Motion to approve vouchers. Motion carried.
Financial Report
Stead/Hirsch: Motion to accept the financial report. Motion carried.
Reports
ADRC – Grant County Director’s Report
• Reid has been working on the budget.
• Reviewing 2024 Aging goals and planning 2025-2027 goals.
• Elderfest planning is in full-swing. Grant County Health Dept. and SWCAP will have gift
cards for the vaccine clinic again.
• Planning for Part D season with Emily Reuter, EBS.
• The public hearing for both Public Transportation and the Aging Plan will be in October.
There will be a morning session in Lancaster with Zoom, and just an in-person session in
Boscobel in the afternoon.
ADRC – Programs Report
• Reid reviewed program report.
