MEMBERS PRESENT: Ron Coppernoll, Nancy Howard, Amy Kite, Judy Lindholm, Gary Ranum,
Mark Stead (Chair.), Charles Stenner, Kelby Thomas, Mike Tiber and Mary Ellen Tredinnick.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Judy Friar
OTHERS PRESENT: Jeff Lockhart, Zack Armstrong, Cheryl Knapp and Nancy Schmitz.
1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL: 7:00 p.m.; quorum present.
2. OPEN MEETINGS LAW CERTIFICATION: A notice was published in the Herald Independent,
stating the date, time and place of the Unified Community Services Board meeting. Notice was also
posted at the county courthouses, two other public locations, sent to radio station to be announced and
posted on the Grant and Iowa County websites. Verified by Nancy Schmitz.
3. CONSENT CALENDAR: Ron Coppernoll moved to approve the agenda and the minutes of the
June 21, 2017 Board meeting. Motion seconded by Mike Tiber and passed unanimously.
4. BILLS: Mary Ellen Tredinnick moved to approve payment of the bills for June/July, 2017 as
reviewed. Motion seconded by Amy Kite and passed unanimously.
5. REPORTS:
a) Financial reports for June, 2017 given by Zack Armstrong.
b) Personnel reports for June, 2017 given by Cheryl Knapp.
c) Chairman’s report – Groundbreaking for the new Grant County jail complex held today.
Construction crews are moving in next week.
d) Jeff Lockhart presented the Director's report as follows:
i. We completed the first 30 days of a 90 days process for centralized scheduling within the
agency.
ii. New Community Support Program hire will be in training for the first 30 days before Jeff
will shift his current caseload to her.
iii. Long Term Support Department fair hearing was withdrawn.
iv. Unified will be attending the Police Chief’s meeting next week to inform them about the pilot
project with Bayside taking emergency detentions. Transporting to Bayside will mean cost
savings for law enforcement. Less Emergency Detentions to Winnebago Mental Health
Institute will result in lower costs for Unified.
v. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be starting next month.
vi. Personnel Committee meeting is scheduled for September 6, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the
Lancaster office.
vii. Finance Committee meeting is scheduled for September 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the
Dodgeville office.
Judy Lindholm moved to accept the reports and place them on file. Motion seconded by Gary
Ranum and passed unanimously.
6. INTRODUCTIONS AND PUBLIC COMMENTS: None.

7. ADJOURNMENT: Charles Stenner moved to adjourn at 7:31 p.m. Motion seconded by Kelby
Thomas and passed unanimously. Next meeting date is August 16, 2017.
