Alona Lane, Lancaster, Wisconsin MEMBERS PRESENT: Ron Coppernoll, Judy Friar, Nancy Howard, Amy Kite, Judy Lindholm, Gary Ranum, Mark Stead (Chair), Charles Stenner, Kelby Thomas, Mike Tiber and Mary Ellen Tredinnick. OTHERS PRESENT: Jeff Lockhart, Zack Armstrong, Cheryl Knapp and Nancy Schmitz. 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL: 7:00 p.m.; quorum present. 2. OPEN MEETINGS LAW CERTIFICATION: A notice was published in the Herald Independent, stating the date, time and place of the Unified Community Services Board meeting. Notice was also posted in four public locations, on Grant and Iowa Counties websites and sent to local radio stations. Verified by Nancy Schmitz. 3. CONSENT CALENDAR: Mike Tiber moved to approve the agenda and to approve the minutes of the November 15, 2017 Board meeting. Motion seconded by Gary Ranum and passed unanimously. 4. BILLS: Ron Coppernoll moved approval for payment of the bills for November/December 2017 as reviewed. Motion seconded by Kelby Thomas and passed unanimously. 5. REPORTS: a) Financial report for November, 2017 given by Zack Armstrong. b) Personnel report for November, 2017 given by Cheryl Knapp. c) Chairman’s report – Thank you to Jerry and Janelle Carroll for the Christmas treats for the Board. d) Jeff Lockhart presented the Agency Director's report as follows: i. Current unassigned fund balance is at 23%. ii. Jesse Brogley has started as AODA Counselor and is working with the Grant County Treatment Court. iii. Drug Court has their first graduate tomorrow. iv. We have expressed intention with Iowa County to start running the OWI Court. v. Hired new Emergency Services coordinator just in time as Holly will be starting maternity leave very soon. vi. Our Mental Health Psychotherapist in the Dodgeville office started FMLA. vii. Distributed a current UCS Table of Organization which includes the new hires. viii. Handout on Wisconsin mental health and substance abuse needs assessment. Consumer barriers to receiving services. Top barrier is affordability. Ron Coppernoll mentioned that SWCAP looking at special programming for suicide. It is alarming that so many farmers are committing suicide. Sleep deprivation is a big contributor. Amy Kite moved to accept the reports and place them on file. Motion seconded by Mary Ellen Tredinnick and passed unanimously. 6. INTRODUCTIONS AND PUBLIC COMMENTS: None.
