Leffler Street, Dodgeville WI 53533 MEMBERS PRESENT VIA Zoom: Carol Beals and Amy Kite. MEMBERS PRESENT: Joan Davis, Nancy Howard, Justin O’Brien, Gary Ranum, Brandon Snyder, Charles Stenner and Mike Tiber. MEMBER ABSENT: Judy Friar OTHERS PRESENT: Jeff Lockhart, Cheryl Knapp, Jessica Munson. OTHERS PRESENT VIA Zoom: Nancy Schmitz. 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL: 6:00 p.m.; quorum present. 2. OPEN MEETINGS LAW CERTIFICATION: Meeting Notice was posted in four public locations (Two offices of Unified Community Services, both County buildings, and on Grant and Iowa Counties websites and sent to local radio stations. Notice given that meeting will be conducted in person and via electronic videoconferencing. Verified by Nancy Schmitz. 3. AGENDA: Brandon Snyder moved to approve the agenda. Motion seconded by Mike Tiber and passed unanimously. 4. MINUTES: Gary Ranum moved to approve the minutes of the July 20, 2022 meeting. Motion seconded by Charles Stenner and passed unanimously. 5. INTRODUCTIONS AND PUBLIC COMMENTS: None. 6. BILLS: Justin O’Brien moved approval for payment of the bills for July/August, 2022 as reviewed. Motion seconded by Nancy Howard and passed unanimously. 7. REPORTS: a) Financial reports for July, 2022 given by Jessica Munson. b) Personnel report for July, 2022 given by Cheryl Knapp. c) Chairman’s report – None. d) Jeff Lockhart presented the Agency Director's report as follows: i. Unified has an unassigned fund balance of 27%. ii. Personnel Committee Meeting set for August 29, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in Lancaster. iii. Finance Committee Meeting set for September 15, 2022 at 6:00 at Iowa County Law Enforcement Center. iv. Children’s Waiver clients transitioning to Unified from Grant County DSS on 9/1/22. v. Fentanyl/Opioid use on the rise. 91% of opioid overdose deaths in Wisconsin are due to Fentanyl. 70% of State Opioid funds go to the counties and 30% go towards promoting Narcan and test strips. vi. Unified is experiencing higher referrals from the community to the Comprehensive Community Services program. vii. Grant County IT are checking into updating Unified’s telephone system to MyTel. May cost less than current phone system. viii. Jeff Lockhart looked into stats from 9 counties closest in size to UCS. Among these, Grant UNIFIED COMMUNITY SERVICES Wednesday, August 17, 2022 Page 2 County (UCS + HHS0 has the highest worker to resident ratio. Also noted that some UCS programs are entitlement programs and cannot be limited. Joan Davis attended the Iowa County Opioid Task Force meeting. Grant County now has a committee set up. We will be a part of a 5 county regional. Possible cost of $3,000 per county. Justin O’Brien moved to accept the reports and place them on file. Motion seconded by Gary Ranum and passed unanimously. 8. NEXT MEETING: September 21, 2022 meeting will be at the Grant County Administration Building. 9.
