The following members and personnel were present: LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEE: Bob Scallon, Gary Ranum, Robert Keeney, Lester Jantzen, John Patcle and Michael Lieurance. GUESTS: Chief Deputy Jack Johnson and Tonya White, Recording Secretary. Chief Deputy Jack Johnson verified the agenda had been posted. Lester second by Mike approved the agenda. Under New Business Chief Deputy Johnson discussed that he and Sheriff Dreckman met with the Village of Potosi and the Village of Tennyson. The first request was for 25 hours for a contract. The Sheriff and Chief Deputy explained to them that 25 hours would not be able to be done by hiring a new deputy. The villages both had a special meeting and decided that the Village of Potosi would contract for 20 hours and the Village of Tennyson would contract for 10 hours. Chief Deputy Johnson did speak with Joyce Roling yesterday regarding the pay and the county will be required to pay benefits for anything over 30 hours. The cost to the Villages would be $41.00 an hour that includes benefits, the car and fuel. Joyce sent Chief Deputy Johnson a benefits package starting in December 1, 2015 and the cost would be $4,447. Contract out and charge cost would be $4,366. The cost with benefits package starting in 2016 would be $67,685. The 30 hour contract cost for 2016 would be $63,960. The additional 10 hours will be for the county. The Village of Potosi did budget $3,988 for patrol duty at the Army Corp of Engineers campground. The Sheriff and Chief Deputy have not spoken with the Arm y Corp yet to see if they would like patrol for the campground. If they would like patrol then we would get $3,988 and the county would roughly break even. Sheriff Dreckman and Chief Deputy Johnson also talked with the villages about purchasing their squad car for the contract deputy. Mike made a motion second by Gary to send the hiring of a new deputy request to the Executive Committee. Motion carried. It was motioned by John second by Bob S. to adjourn. Motion carried. Respectfully submitted, Tonya White, Recording Secretary
