HomeMy WebLinkAboutLECminutes4-17-18GRANT COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT/EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DISASTER SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING GRANT COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER Lancaster, WI 53813 April 17, 2018 The Grant County Law Enforcement/Emergency Management Disaster Services Committee was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Chairman Gary Ranum. The following members and personnel were present: LAW ENFORCEMENT/EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DISASTER SERVICES COMMITTEE: Ronald Coppernoll, Bob Keeney, Mike Lieurance, Donald Splinter and Lester Jantzen. GUESTS: Sheriff Nate Dreckman; Chief Deputy Jack Johnson; Steve Braun, Emergency Management and Kelly Bird, Recording Secretary. Kelly Bird verified the agenda had been posted at the County Clerk’s office, Courthouse, Sheriff’s Office and on the county website. Lester second by Ron approved the agenda as mailed. Motion carried. Sheriff Dreckman started a discussion for the need of an Independent Radio Consultant . The upcoming transition process of the Dispatch Center to the new facility resulted in two vendor quotes for equipment needed to update the current communications system. There was a difference of $100,000.00 between the two quotes. Sheriff Dreckman would like an Independent Radio Consultant that is not tied to any vendors come and due an assessment and recommendation for equipment and upgrades needed. The funding needed would be up to $50,000.00. This money is not in the Sheriff’s Office budget or available in Carryover. It was moved by Ron and seconded by Mike to recommend spending up to $50,000.00 from the General Fund to hire an Independent Radio Consultant and send it to the Executive Committee. Motion carried.
