Bob S, second by Larry, verified that the meeting had been posted in accordance with the open-meeting law. Tony,
second by Rodney, motioned to approve the agenda as mailed. The minutes were approved in a motion by Bob S
and second by Bob K. Bills were approved in a motion by Rodney and second by Tony. All above motions carried.
The Monthly Report was not needed and the meeting moved into Old Business.
Old Business was discussed. The Beetown Hazard Mitigation project has been finished. The remaining work
involves closing out the finances. The housing buyouts are still on hold while we wait for a response from FEMA
on our application. The homeowners are becoming increasingly concerned and wanting to know what is going on.
This is a very long and involved process, and homeowners knew going into this that it could be as long as two years
to complete. We are hoping for a response from FEMA later this month.
The Tower agreement with the City of Fennimore for the new radio system was discussed. Because of the distance
from Boscobel to Lancaster, a repeater has to be placed on the Fennimore water tower. The Fennimore City Council
approved a lease for $10 a year. JoAnn Millhouse has reviewed the lease for Grant County and provided a few
comments. This will also help Fennimore City, Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement with signal strength. Motion by
Bob S. Second by Larry to approve the tower lea se between Grant County and the City of Fennimore. Motion
carried.
New Business was discussed. We are still waiting for news of fire grant awards. Also Steve will be at the County
Board meeting to discuss and get approval for 2 grants, previously discussed with this committee. One was for
mobile and portable radios and the other was a training and exercise grant.
No public comments.
A motion was made by Bob S and second by Tony. to adjourn until the next meeting on December 14, 2009.
