Motion carried. Motion by Pat, Second by Robert Keeney to accept the agenda as posted. Motion carried. Motion by Robert, Second by Tony to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Motion carried. Question about invoice from SWTC; Steve stated that the invoice was for meal costs for a fire/EMS meeting that the LEPC sponsored. Motion by Robert Keeney, Second by Robert Scallon to pay the bills. Motion carried. Director’s Monthly Report: Steve reported that we are working on fire grants which are due next Wednesday. We will be submitting or assisting with approximately 40 grant applications. Steve passed out Stimulus Program information for fire station construction. This is a different program and we expect to get more information about the program by the end of May. Platteville, Glen Haven, Livingston, Kieler and Mount Hope would be some of the communities that might consider an application. Until we see the guidance, we will not know who may be eligible or how the program will work. Old Business: None Bids: This bidding process was for a project in Beetown. Steve reported that two bids were re ceived and both were way over the NRCS estimate of $53,000. Steve has been in contact with NRCS and they also feel that the bids received were too high. Steve recommended that the committee reject the bids and re-bid the project. It would be in everyone’s benefit to hold a “bidders workshop” prior to when the bids are due, which will help to answer contractor’s questions and ease some of the concerns that were raised. Comment by Pat that the County Highway Department should also be asked to submit a bid. Motion by Larry, second by Rodney to reject the curr ent bids and repost the project, with an informational meeting for bidders to be included in the posting. Motion carried. New Business: None Motion by Robert Scallon, Second by Tony to adjourn until Monday, June 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Grant County Law Enforcement Center. Motion carried.
