Meeting was called to order by Chairman John Patcle.
Steve Braun verified the agenda has been posted by the County Clerk at the Administration Building, Courthouse, and also
on the county Website. Steve, second by Vince, motioned to approve the agenda as mailed. The minutes were approved in a
motion by Lester and second by Larry. All above motions carried.
The Monthly Director’s Report was given by Steve Braun. He passed around photos of the new American Red Cross trailer
which was delivered to the county earlier in the month. Supplies on the trailer wi ll enable volunteers to establish a small
shelter in the event of an emergency, with additional supplies available from the surrounding counties or Madison.
Under Old Business Steve updated the group on activities in our office over the month. The Mitigation Plan process
continues as we begin to work one-on-one with municipalities who did not return their paperwork. It should be available in
draft form in the next week or so. All the mapping and the technical parts will go to the State in June.
Steve briefly discussed the status of the Communications grant. For radios, four vendors submitted proposals and price
quotes. Each department will choose their radio vendor based on their individual needs. At the County Fire Meeting Steve
will work with departments who have not ordered yet. Steve is working on the Simulcast upgrade Request For Proposals.
Under New Business, Steve reminded the group of Severe Weather Awareness Week, April 16 -20. All municipal sirens will
be sounded on Thursday during a mock drill. We will work with all those with emergency receivers to also be sure they are
working and prepared for severe weather this upcoming season.
