HomeMy WebLinkAboutEM November2012GRANT COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT/DISASTER SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING GRANT COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER Lancaster WI 53813 November 13, 2012 The Grant County Emergency Management/Disaster Services Committee was called to order November 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. by Chairman Larry Wolf. The following members and personnel were present: EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT/DISASTER SERVICES COMMITTEE: Larry Wolf, John Beinborn, John Patcle, Robert Scallon, Vincent Loeffelholz, Patrick Schroeder and Lester Jantzen GUESTS: Steve Braun, Emergency Government, Sheriff Nate Dreckman, Grant County Sheriff’s Department, Chief Deputy Jack Johnson, Grant County Sheriff’s Department, Grant County Coroner Ron Sturmer, Kelly Bird, Grant County Sheriff’s Department, David Timmerman, Media Representative, Robert Keeney, County Board of Supervisors, Julie Loeffelholz, Recording Secretary. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meeting was called to order by Chairman Larry Wolf. Steve Braun verified the agenda has been posted by the County Clerk at the Administration Building, Courthouse, and also on the county Website. John B, second by Lester, motioned to approve the agenda as mailed. The minutes were approved in a motion by Lester and seconded by Bob. All above motions carried. Director’s Monthly Report: Steve discussed the LEPC meeting which was held on November 1, 2012. Facility plans were presented and approved by the LEPC. Also at that meeting, Steve provided an overview of the new alerting system. Steve spoke about forthcoming changes to the Emergency Alert System to those present and gave out a hand -out explaining the system. Soon it will be able to be used to send out messages to cellular phones in a geographic area. Old Business: Hazard Mitigation Plan has been reviewed by the State and they have some questions. We will be working with the contractor to ensure the information is corrected or clarified and then it wil l be sent on to FEMA for their review. There is still no new news regarding the AFG applications grants submitted by area departments with our assistance. The Narrow-banding change-over is in progress. Warning systems should all be working and the local s are working to get their radios reprogrammed. New Business: None Grants: No grants are being considered at this time Public Forum: No comments. Motion to approve bills by Vince, second by John B. Motion Carried. Motion by Bob, second by John B. to adjourn the meeting until Monday, December 10 at 10:00 a.m. in the lower level of the Law Enforcement Center. Respectfully Submitted: Julie G.
